Antares Vision Group Partners with Guinea-Bissau Health Ministry for Pharmaceutical Traceability

Antares Vision Group Signs Landmark Agreement with Guinea-Bissau

On February 10, 2025, Antares Vision Group, an Italian multinational acclaimed for its Track & Trace systems and quality control, announced a pivotal agreement with the Ministry of Health of Guinea-Bissau. This landmark contract will play a crucial role in the digital transformation of public health management in the country, significantly enhancing pharmaceutical traceability and supply chain integrity.

Streamlining Pharmaceutical Supply Chain

Under this multi-year agreement, Antares Vision Group will roll out a comprehensive national system for tracing and verifying pharmaceutical products. This initiative promises improved visibility and enhanced security across the entire supply chain. Mandatory registration for all supply chain participants is scheduled to commence in the latter half of 2025, with further details to be communicated by the Ministry of Health.

This initiative positions Guinea-Bissau as a leader in West Africa, marking the region’s first end-to-end verification system for pharmaceuticals. By harnessing advanced technology and data analytics, this system will elevate the safety and reliability of the pharmaceutical supply chain.

Key Benefits for Public Health

The proposed solutions will equip regulatory bodies with real-time data to monitor medication availability and distribution. Patients will also benefit from the ability to conduct digital verification of products and access electronic patient information leaflets (ePIL). This initiative aims to foster transparency and build public trust in healthcare services.

Antares Vision Group will be providing two significant digital healthcare solutions:

1. Rfxcel Transactional Repository (rTH): This center, which adheres to GS1 standards, will securely manage all transactions across the pharmaceutical supply chain, involving manufacturers, importers, distributors, and central government purchasing entities.

2. Antares Vision Group's Governmental Platform (rGOV): This platform will introduce essential modules to bolster Guinea-Bissau's healthcare infrastructure, including:
- National Health Product Catalog: A centralized platform for managing data related to medicines, ensuring regulatory approval and real-time data availability for regulatory agencies.
- Customs and Import Bridge: A comprehensive system offering end-to-end visibility on medical and pharmaceutical imports, linking customs records with manufacturer transactions for real-time government oversight.
- Central Registry: A national database capturing all entities involved in manufacturing, importing, distributing, and dispensing pharmaceutical products. This registry will streamline regulatory processes and ensure compliance.

Commitment to Innovation

Gianluca Mazzantini, the CEO of Antares Vision Group, expressed pride in being a trusted partner to the Guinea-Bissau Ministry of Health, emphasizing the company's dedication to delivering world-class digital solutions in life sciences within the region. Sebastian Neuwirth, Head of Government Solutions at Antares Vision Group, highlighted this agreement as a milestone towards modernizing and securing Guinea-Bissau's pharmaceutical sector.
