Yesway's Commitment to Community Recovery
In a remarkable display of community spirit, Yesway, a rapidly expanding convenience store chain based in Texas, has successfully raised
$200,000 to aid communities in the Texas Hill Country impacted by the recent catastrophic floods. This initiative reflects Yesway's unwavering dedication to the communities it serves, exemplifying the generosity of customers, employees, and suppliers alike.
Initially, Yesway set a corporate commitment of
$100,000 to kickstart their relief efforts. However, the total amount raised significantly exceeded expectations, thanks to the contributions from the loyal customers of Yesway and Allsup's, as well as support from supplier partners, including Good2Grow. The funds will be allocated to the
Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country's Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, aimed at addressing urgent needs while contributing to long-term recovery initiatives.
Tom Trkla, Yesway's Chairman, President, and CEO, expressed heartfelt concern for his fellow Texans: "We feel deeply for our fellow Texans in the Texas Hill Country. We hope these funds will ease immediate hardships and help rebuild these vibrant communities. We are grateful to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country for ensuring these resources go where they can do the most good."
This initiative is not just about numbers; it signifies a profound commitment to communities during their times of need. Yesway's dedication to charity also extends back to its roots. Leveraging strong local ties, the company has steadily opened
85 new stores across Texas and neighboring regions, aiming to provide jobs and support local economies. Each newly opened store is designed to meet local needs while fostering a sense of community. Yesway doesn’t merely operate businesses; it builds connections and invests in community welfare.
The grassroots support witnessed during the fundraising campaign underscores the shared values among Yesway, its employees, and customers. Contributions from store visitors across nine states exceeded
$80,000, demonstrating collective efforts that can have a meaningful impact on those affected by the floods. This support is not only crucial for immediate recovery but also pivotal for the long-term revitalization of local communities.
As community members begin to pick up the pieces after such devastating disasters, the importance of reliable partners and supportive networks becomes glaringly clear. Yesway's commitment shines brightly against the backdrop of adversity, reminding everyone of the power of compassion and collective action.
"On behalf of all of us at Yesway, thank you to everyone who contributed," Trkla added. "Your compassion and generosity will make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by these floods, and we are honored to stand with the Texas Hill Country during this difficult time."
Yesway's impact extends far beyond its store counters. By prioritizing community support and engagement, the company proves that businesses can play a pivotal role in addressing societal challenges and enhancing local resilience. As Yesway continues to expand, so too will its efforts to uplift the communities it proudly serves.
