Japan Water Stewardship Forum Announcement
On August 1, 2025, the Japan Water Stewardship Forum will take place, hosted by the Japan Water Stewardship (JWS), comprising companies committed to responsible water resource management. This significant event coincides with 'Water Day', aiming to raise awareness of the challenges businesses face regarding water risks and the importance of sustainable water management.
Event Overview
This forum will bring together key stakeholders, including corporate representatives, government officials, NGOs, and water stewardship experts. The objective is to enhance interest in water resource management and communicate the activities of JWS. Participants can expect a message from the Cabinet Secretariat's Water Cycle Policy Headquarters, collaborative case studies from municipalities like Kumamoto City and Nasushiobara City, and presentations from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) about their international activities in water resource management.
In addition, several founding members of JWS—such as Kurita Water Industries, Suntory Holdings, Coca-Cola Japan, Yachiyo Engineering, and MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings (in alphabetical order)—will participate in panel discussions. These discussions will cover the companies' specific initiatives toward water stewardship, regional collaborations, and the challenges and opportunities in the supply chain.
Significance of the Forum
With the sustainable use of water resources directly linked to corporate competitiveness and regional resilience, this forum is expected to serve as a catalyst for enhancing public awareness and practical efforts regarding water management. Interested individuals are highly encouraged to attend.
