The J-STAR Project: Paving the Way for Talented Athletes
The J-STAR Project, initiated by the Japan Sport Council (JSC), is set to kick off the registration process for aspiring athletes looking to represent Japan at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Beginning on June 16, the project aims to scout and nurture talent through the Athlete Pathway System (APS), designed to support individuals from all sports backgrounds.
The APS is a free tool that serves as a digital resume for athletes, allowing everyone—from those who have never participated in sports to seasoned athletes—to register their information. This system not only helps elevate participants' profiles but also offers a fair evaluation process, with personal details anonymized during selection.
