Jamboree Housing Corporation Honors Mayor Agran with Inaugural Legacy Award
In an exciting celebration marking its 35th anniversary, Jamboree Housing Corporation has announced the launch of its first-ever Legacy Award. This commendation is set to recognize outstanding leaders in the community who have significantly contributed to enhancing housing affordability and promoting community strength. The inaugural recipient of this notable award will be none other than Irvine's own Mayor Larry Agran, known for his exemplary decades-long leadership in advocating for affordable housing.
The prestigious Legacy Award will be presented at a black-tie gala scheduled for October 18, 2025, at AV Irvine. This grand event promises to unite leaders, influencers, and philanthropists, all gathered to celebrate Jamboree's mission of transforming lives through affordable housing and comprehensive resident services. Guests will indulge in a night of gourmet dining and live entertainment, while celebrating those who have played a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s goals.
For over 30 years, Mayor Agran has played a crucial role in shaping policies that have made Irvine a beacon for diversity, inclusion, and housing access. His dedication has resulted in the establishment of more than 5,000 affordable housing units within the city. Moreover, a bold initiative is currently underway aimed at doubling this number over the next five years, providing even greater access to safe and high-quality homes for the residents of Irvine. Agran's visionary efforts have paved the way for countless citizens to enjoy stable housing and vital services that foster well-being and opportunity.
Agran’s partnership with Jamboree spans back decades, including his vital involvement in preserving the Meadows mobile home park in Irvine, catering to seniors aged 55 and up. This project remains a cornerstone of the community’s commitment to inclusivity. “I believe our collaboration sets a benchmark for exemplary local governance,” stated Agran. “By leveraging our resources, we aim to continue building a city that is safe, smart, green, and kind. The initiative for 'instant affordability' aims to provide priority access to high-quality housing for families grappling with instability or homelessness.”
Laura Archuleta, President and CEO of Jamboree, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for honoring Agran at this momentous event. She emphasized that Agran's vision has not only transformed Irvine into one of America’s most inclusive cities but has also demonstrated a powerful model of prioritizing housing access for all. “His leadership stands as a testament to how thoughtful policy can create lasting solutions amidst the homelessness crisis affecting California. We are delighted to commemorate his legacy at this landmark gala for Jamboree,” Archuleta noted.
Jamboree extends its gratitude to the gala's top sponsors, including U.S. Bank as the Changemaker Sponsor, alongside Visionary Sponsors such as RESI Architecture, the David A. Pyle family, and OneRoot Foundation, along with several Legacy Sponsors including Bank of America and Nossaman LLP.
