Introduction
A groundbreaking online learning program named "Online Follow-Up" is set to be launched by KEI Advance, part of the Kawai Juku Group, starting November 2025. This innovative program is specifically designed for college students and working adults aspiring to enter psychology graduate schools. It aims to enhance traditional online learning methods with a focus on sustainability and personal growth.
Context of the Program
Gaining qualifications such as Certified Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist typically involves proceeding to designated psychology graduate schools. However, the competition for these programs is intense, requiring candidates to excel in written exams, research proposals, and interviews. Kawai Juku KALS has a proven track record of producing many successful graduates through their combined in-person and online preparatory courses for these graduate entrance exams.
The "Online Follow-Up" program will be an extension of their online learning courses, providing candidates with the flexibility of learning anytime and anywhere while also ensuring that they maintain motivation and build a supportive community among peers.
Features of the Online Follow-Up Program
1. Maintaining a Learning Cycle with Live Classes and Written Assignments
The program includes live lectures twice a week (Wednesdays and Saturdays) on three core subjects: Introduction to Psychology, Psychology, and Psychology in English. Following each 60-minute lecture, a 30-minute Q&A session allows students to interact directly with instructors. Additionally, students will complete written assignments based on what they learn, promoting engagement and a consistent learning rhythm while fostering a sense of community and shared focus.
2. Individual Advising for Improved Motivation
Once a month, students will have a one-on-one online counseling session with their designated counselor to review academic progress and update their study plans and strategies for the graduate school entrance exams. Having a mentor to provide guidance can significantly boost students’ motivation, supporting their journey toward graduation.
3. Community Building to Alleviate Feelings of Isolation
To address feelings of solitude commonly associated with online learning, peer support sessions will be conducted during breaks in live lectures. During these 15-minute discussions, students will talk about predetermined topics, such as study techniques or strategies for maintaining motivation. This “just enough” community experience will help mitigate any isolation or anxiety while fostering meaningful connections among learners.
