XCMG Expands Its Relationships in South America Through Localization Efforts and New Partnerships

XCMG Strengthens Ties with South America

XCMG Machinery has embarked on a substantial journey to enhance its operational footprint in South America, focusing on sustainable practices and localization of its activities. In a landmark meeting in Brasília, Chairman Yang Dongsheng leveraged the engagement by discussing the completed foundational work of XCMG over the past two decades in Brazil. Notably, this venture includes the establishment of a new research institute aimed at enhancing industrial modernization and energy efficiency.

The discussions highlighted not only the advancements made by XCMG in areas like digital transformation and stable banking operations, but also underscored the shift in company strategy from merely trading and setting up new factories to an initiative defined by smart revolution and global networking. Chairman Yang emphasized that the company's new direction prioritizes high-quality, eco-friendly, and locally sourced growth, moving away from a strictly export-oriented model.

In a bid to define collaborative efforts further, the engagements with local authorities included not only financial investments but also talent development and environmentally responsible mining practices. Yang highlighted the potential for both sides—XCMG's expertise in machinery and Brazil’s aspirations for industrial growth—to pave the way for a mutually beneficial relationship.

A significant appearance during Yang's visit was at the 'Brasil Produtivo' event in São Paulo, where industry leaders convened to discuss developments in the machinery sector, illustrating XCMG's vital role in fostering Chinese-Brazilian collaboration. Yang echoed the sentiments by outlining plans to increase focus on local manufacturing and brand building while investing further in research, development, and service training.

Among these promising developments includes an industrial park in Pouso Alegre, which has become a hub for modern manufacturing and showcases China's manufacturing capabilities abroad. During his inspection of the Brazilian facility, Yang noted advancements in production technology and emphasized the importance of innovation and long-term strategic planning.

This trip also saw significant outreach into neighboring countries. After Brazil, Yang traveled to Chile, Argentina, and Peru, meeting with diplomatic representatives to bolster local partnerships. In Chile, he inaugurated a new service center that symbolizes XCMG's commitment to local business operations, integrating a range of services such as parts supply, customer service, and training, thereby transitioning from an export business to full local presence.

In Argentina, XCMG signed a framework agreement for new energy-efficient sanitary installations, positioning itself to assist the country in its transition towards a greener economy while establishing partnerships with universities to create a talent pipeline connecting academia and industry.

In Lima, Peru, a new hub was launched, demonstrating XCMG’s commitment to supporting local infrastructure with services across the machinery life cycle. With an impressive 24,000 square meter facility, the hub will provide comprehensive support including service and training initiatives.

The collective efforts of XCMG illustrate not only the vibrancy and potential of the Chinese manufacturing industry but also its deepening commitment to sustainable and responsible growth in South America. XCMG aims to establish an industrial ecosystem promoting high-quality development, drawing on engineering innovation and strategic partnerships, firmly positioning itself as a leader in the region’s market.
