Zoomlion's Full-Stack Humanoid Robots Compete at World Humanoid Robot Games
Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. recently showcased its internal humanoid robots at the second edition of the World Humanoid Robot Games held in Beijing. The event featured various competitions such as the high jump without a running start, 100-meter sprint, and long jump without a running start, each designed to evaluate the robots' walking algorithms, joint responsiveness, and overall stability during high-speed movements and complex control scenarios.
The performance of these humanoid robots was notable across all three trials, demonstrating the seamless integration of their hardware architecture, artificial intelligence algorithms, and motion control systems. This has established Zoomlion's position as a leading player in the robotics industry.
Zeng Guang, the General Manager of ZValley, a subsidiary of Zoomlion, emphasized that these competitions were not solely about measuring speed and strength; they provided a comprehensive assessment of the company’s capabilities in artificial intelligence and its ability to deploy robots in real-world environments. Competing against teams from around the globe allowed Zoomlion to benchmark its technology against competitors, refining its systems and products for enhanced reliability and adaptability in industrial settings.
The company has integrated dozens of its humanoid robots within its smart factories, performing tasks such as material sorting, cable harnessing, component pre-assembly, precision assembly, quality control of finished products, and factory patrols. The bipedal robot Z01 utilizes imitation learning based on artificial intelligence to organize randomly arranged objects and accurately assemble and attach cable harnesses. Meanwhile, the wheeled model Z03 can autonomously perform high-precision operations, including pre-assembling mirrors for industrial equipment, thus meeting the stringent precision requirements of production lines.
Zoomlion leverages operational data from these deployments, as well as from over 300 intelligent production lines and more than 2,000 industrial robots operating year-round. This data is instrumental in continually improving AI models, algorithms, and robot performance, creating a virtuous cycle where technology enhances deployment and field experience fuels further advancements.
