Embracing Creativity in the AI Era
In a time defined by rapid technological advancements, the importance of self-expression has never been more crucial. The DAC Future Support Cultural Association, known for promoting social contribution activities through its parent company DAC Group, is excited to announce the launch of the 14th Mirai Support Painting and Essay Contest. This competition, endorsed by the Ministry of Education, focuses on the themes of "family bonds" and "adventure, challenge, and breaking boundaries."
Navigating a Changing World
The Ministry of Education, in its Basic Plan for Educational Promotion (2023-2027), describes the current era as a "VUCA" (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity) age. It emphasizes the necessity of cultivating the ability to identify and tackle societal challenges proactively. As we find ourselves in a world where artificial intelligence evolves at breakneck speed, developing resilience and non-cognitive skills becomes vital.
Contrastingly, recent surveys indicate that children today may be increasingly hesitant to take risks or embrace challenges. According to data from the Child and Family Agency's 2023 study on the awareness and lives of children and youth, the inclination to tackle uncertain tasks diminishes as children grow older.
Fostering a Spirit of Challenge
To confront these challenges, the Mirai Support Contest encourages young participants to step outside their comfort zones. Each year, the competition invites submissions that reflect on daily experiences of family connections and individual adventures. The goal is to cultivate self-efficacy and non-cognitive skills through creative expression, helping children navigate the complexities of modern life.
This contest serves as a platform for children to discover their potential and encourage them to take that next step towards growth. It aims to empower the youth with the courage to express their thoughts and feelings, fostering resilience amid the shifting landscape of contemporary society.
