FLUX CAFE in Daikanyama Set to Unveil Renovated Space on October 1, 2025

FLUX CAFE Renovation Announcement

As FLUX CAFE in Daikanyama approaches its milestone 10-year anniversary, the café is excited to announce a complete renovation that will take place on October 1, 2025. Originally opened in October 2015, FLUX has established itself as a beloved spot for both locals and visitors. The revamped café will now feature a collaborative menu in partnership with 'Oishiio-to,' a company from Ehime Prefecture known for its nutritious, handmade bento boxes filled with seasonal vegetables.

The name 'FLUX' means 'flow' in English, aligning perfectly with the café's vision of promoting well-being through balanced nutrition and healthy living. The café shares the same building with 'FLUX CONDITIONINGS,' which offers integrated training solutions that emphasize the importance of proper bodily functions, from blood circulation to mental clarity. Similarly, FLUX CAFE aims to provide meals that help customers achieve a well-balanced diet, rich in much-needed vegetables.

Visitors can expect a daily selection of 17 different meal options centered around the traditional Japanese concept of 'ichiju-sansai' (one soup, three sides), ensuring that diners enjoy meals that are not only delicious but also nutritious. Signature items from Oishiio-to include their popular charcoal-grilled demi-glace hamburgers, fried chicken, and chicken nanban, alongside exclusive offerings like the local specialty, tai-meshi. This traditional dish from Uwajima City involves mixing sashimi with a special soy sauce, raw egg, and condiments on a bed of warm rice, creating a delightful dining experience. Additionally, health-conscious patrons can savor the chicken breast tofu hamburger, a protein-rich yet light option ideal for those watching their diet.

The pricing for some of these delectable dishes includes:
  • - Demi-glace Hamburger (includes rice, miso soup, salad, two side dishes, pickles): 1,800 yen (excluding tax)
  • - Chicken Nanban (includes rice, miso soup, salad, two side dishes, pickles): 1,600 yen (excluding tax)
  • - Tai-meshi (includes salad, miso soup, side dishes, pickles): 2,200 yen (dine-in only, excluding tax)
  • - Chicken Breast Tofu Hamburger (includes rice, miso soup, salad, two side dishes, pickles): 1,700 yen (excluding tax).

Meat dishes like the Matela pork tonteki and tonkatsu will also be available, using pork raised on silica mineral powder for a lean, flavorful taste. Notably, the miso used in the 'ichiju-sansai' set meal is made with 'mugi-miso,' which comprises only 3.8% of Japan's total miso production but is cherished for its subtle sweetness and umami flavor profile. It’s an excellent source of dietary fiber and aids in gut health, making it a beneficial addition to any meal.

Each set meal comes with a main dish, rice, and miso soup, accompanied by two seasonal vegetable sides, a colorful salad, and pickles, ensuring that guests can enjoy a colorful array of over ten different vegetables. For just an additional 100 yen, customers can substitute white rice for brown rice for a healthier option.

Eleven of the menu items will also be available as takeout bento boxes, and soon, customers can enjoy FLUX CAFE's meals from the comfort of their own homes through delivery services like UBER Eats and Rocket Now.

Dishes available for bento include:
  • - Saba Miso-ni Bento: 1,500 yen (excluding tax)
  • - Matela Pork Tonteki Bento: 1,500 yen (excluding tax).

In addition to traditional Japanese cuisine, FLUX CAFE also offers an extensive range of Western dishes, from meat doria and creamy chicken and mushroom pasta to gluten-free spiced vegetable curry. Gym-goers will appreciate the protein plate featuring chicken breast, broccoli, and hard-boiled eggs, as well as the protein-infused matcha drink loaded with bananas, spinach, and blueberries.

Note: From October 1-10, the Loco Moco bowl, meat doria, curry doria, meat pasta, and chicken and mushroom cream pasta will be temporarily unavailable.

Menu Prices for Western Dishes:
  • - Meat Doria (includes salad and soup): 1,200 yen (excluding tax)
  • - Protein Plate: 1,500 yen (excluding tax)
  • - Protein-infused Matcha Drink: 1,100 yen (excluding tax).

The space designed by renowned creative director Kashiwa Sato, known for his logo design for Uniqlo, combines the warmth of wood with a stylish, minimalist aesthetic to create a welcoming environment. The café provides power outlets at every table, making it an ideal location for remote work or meetings. A pet-friendly terrace is available with six seats, perfect for a leisurely stop during a day out in Daikanyama.

During the morning hours, from 9:00 to 11:00, customers can enjoy a discount of 200 yen on all drink options when ordered with a meal, along with complimentary brown rice substitutions. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, a coffee break, or dinner, FLUX CAFE invites you to enjoy nourishing and delicious meals throughout the day.
