Enchanting NAKED Night Walk at Natadera Temple
This autumn, from October 3 to 26, 2025, the renowned creative company NAKED, INC., in collaboration with Comrade Co., will once again host the special experiential tour and night walk event titled "NAKED Yoru Sanpo™" at Natadera Temple, located in Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Following last year's successful event, this year’s theme centers around the history and culture of Komatsu, known as the "Stone Town." Visitors will be drawn into a captivating narrative of the stones and nature, enhanced by unique light displays and autumn foliage illuminations.
Special Experience: Autumn Colors and Light Arts
The "NAKED Yoru Sanpo™" event is a night shrine visit and art experience that weaves local culture and stories through light and video. The second event at Natadera Temple will combine their rich cultural heritage with modern light art innovations, crafting an immersive journey that transcends mere light displays.
This year's theme focuses on the historical and natural beauty encapsulated through light art. The magnificent scenery of the nationally designated scenic spot, "Kigan Yusenkyou," along with the autumn leaves, will create a mystical autumn experience. The temple structures, including the main gate and triple-storied pagoda, will be illuminated, and projection mapping will bring the natural rock formations of Kigan Yusenkyou to life, giving the illusion that the rocks are breathing with vitality.
In addition to the stunning visuals, the event will feature interactive art such as the "NAKED Distanced Lantern®," inspired by the colorful Kuta-yaki ceramics, and the "NAKED Hanamikuji®," where participants can create their own floral amulets. Attendees can also enjoy making accessories using Komatsu stones and Kuta-yaki ceramics, participate in a tranquil Sutra copying experience at dusk, and explore a photo exhibition showcasing the daily life in Noto.
Furthermore, special access will be granted to normally restricted areas, including the nationally designated scenic "Kuri Garden" and important cultural property “Shoin and Kuri.” In a VIP viewing experience, guests will be guided by monks and staff to enjoy the architectural beauty of the Kaga Clan amidst twilight. The premium VIP experience also includes special access to areas not available to the general public, making this autumn event at Natadera Temple a truly unique opportunity.
Highlights of the Event
1.
Mesmerizing Light Displays and Projection Mapping
The primary architectural elements of the temple, including the mountain gate, shrine paths, and pagoda, will be illuminated, creating a stunning backdrop against the autumn foliage. Projection mapping on the natural rock formations of Kigan Yusenkyou merges the beauty of nature with art, providing a remarkable experience for visitors.
2.
Exclusive Access to Normally Off-Limits Areas
The VIP viewing ticket offers a rare chance to explore the nationally designated scenic "Kuri Garden" and important cultural properties, guided by monks or staff. This special experience allows attendees to witness the artistry and history of Kaga’s architecture and gardens as dusk transitions to the evening, creating unforgettable memories. The VIP ticket is priced at 5,000 yen, with additional accommodation plans available through the official website.
3.
Interactive Art Experiences
Attendees can take part in the “NAKED Distanced Lantern®” experience by carrying glowing lanterns around the temple grounds, becoming a part of the art with light patterns on the ground. Limited to 200 lanterns for loan, visitors will also enjoy selecting artificial flowers to create unique "Hanamikuji,” tying them within the temple grounds for a beautiful memory to take home.
4.
Community-Focused Experience
The event will feature a workshop for creating stone accessories utilizing local Komatsu stones and Kuta-yaki, enjoyably accessible to all ages. Additionally, participants are invited to engage in a sutra copying session at the serene Fumon Pavilion, creating a connection with history and culture.
