Hesai Unveils Revolutionary Lidar Solutions at IAA Mobility 2025, Setting New Industry Standards
Hesai Unveils Next-Gen Lidar Solutions at IAA Mobility 2025
Hesai Technology, a renowned leader in lidar solutions, is making waves at the IAA Mobility 2025 event in Munich, Germany, showcasing its latest advancements in high-performance lidar technology. Set against the backdrop of this formidable automotive fair, which runs from September 9 to 12, the company's presentation is highly anticipated by industry experts and automotive enthusiasts alike.
Among the standout innovations presented is the ETX, an automotive-grade ultra-long-range lidar module that boasts unparalleled channel count and spatial range. This powerful device has set a new industry standard with an impressive 800-channel count and a detection range of up to 400 meters at 10% reflectivity. Its exceptional resolution of 0.05° x 0.025° positions it as a top choice for Level 3 and Level 4 autonomous driving applications.
One of the key features of the ETX is its foundation on the world’s first fully developed digital single-photon platform. This platform integrates three critical modules: laser emission, single-photon detection, and robust signal processing. Adhering to Class 1 eye safety standards, the ETX enhances the perception capabilities of autonomous vehicles significantly. Despite its high performance expectations, it maintains a compact height of just 32 mm, making it 35% smaller than similar products in its category and facilitating seamless integration behind the windshield of vehicles.
The ETX's capabilities are already garnering attention; it has been selected by a global OEM for inclusion in multiple vehicle models, with mass production projected for 2026. This timeline signals a step forward toward widespread implementation of Level 3 autonomous driving technologies around the globe. Attendees at the IAA Mobility event will have the unique opportunity to experience live demonstrations of the ETX, including a behind-the-windshield solution facilitated in conjunction with prominent windshield manufacturers such as AGC Wideye and Saint-Gobain Sekurit.
In addition to ETX, Hesai is also presenting its FTX, a fully solid-state lidar designed to mitigate perception gaps for L3 and L4 vehicles. The FTX features an expanded field of view of 180° x 140° and delivers more than double the resolution compared to its predecessor. With a weight reduction of 66% and a minimal exposed optical window of just 50 x 30 mm, the FTX can effectively identify low-profile obstacles like road posts, thus enabling crucial operations such as autonomous parking and safe lane changes. Like the ETX, the FTX is also on track for mass production in 2026.
Hesai Technology's presence at IAA Mobility 2025 underscores its commitment to driving the future of autonomous vehicles with cutting-edge advanced lidar technology. As the demand for safety and efficiency in automotive transport rises, the innovations showcased at this year's event are likely to play a significant role in shaping the future of driving.
As industry observers watch closely, Hesai's capabilities and revolutionary products are set to redefine expectations, paving the way for a new era of smart mobility.
