The Sandbox's Inaugural Artist Residency Cohort

The Sandbox, a visionary new artist residency located in the high Mojave Desert, has proudly announced its inaugural cohort for an eleven-day residency from July 30 to August 9, 2026. This first cohort consists of four remarkable artists: Karina Billini, a Brooklyn-based playwright and poet; Charles Chaisson, an abstract painter from Louisiana; Gloria Oladipo, a New York-based playwright and journalist; and Ambe J. Williams, a photographer and director from Brooklyn. These individuals span various disciplines, including theater, literature, painting, photography, and film, bringing a rich diversity of perspectives to the residency.
