In a significant move, Liesbeth Truyens has officially joined Crowell & Moring as a partner in their esteemed International Trade Group, based in Brussels. With over 15 years of comprehensive experience both as outside legal counsel and in-house at a major EU financial institution, Truyens has become a distinguished name in her field. Her practice specializes in advising clients on a myriad of complex issues, including economic sanctions, export controls, and commercial disputes, serving a range of sectors from financial services to energy production and defense manufacturing.

In her role at Crowell, Truyens will leverage her extensive background to provide strategic guidance to clients navigating the intricate landscape of EU trade regulations and compliance. Joining her at Crowell's Brussels office is associate Celine De Buck, who also transitions from Schoups and brings her own experience in economic sanctions, export controls, and commercial law, which further strengthens the team.
