The Okura Tokyo Unveils Orchid Sweets & Deli with Exciting New Offerings
The Okura Tokyo, a distinguished name in Japan’s luxury hospitality, is set to unveil a fresh approach with the rebranding of its delicatessen, now known as "Orchid Sweets & Deli," effective July 1, 2025. Situated in the heart of Tokyo’s Minato Ward, this establishment promises a delightful array of new products alongside its new name.
A New Era for Delicatessens
Under the leadership of General Manager Kenji Takagi, the change also aims to enhance customer experience by introducing three distinct labels that cater to various tastes and occasions, making it easier for visitors to enjoy and select their favorites.
1. Premium Hotel-Made Label
This label embodies the essence of The Okura Tokyo, showcasing complexity and elegance through its meticulously crafted offerings. One standout product from this category is the "Orchid Cookie," which encapsulates the hotel’s identity by featuring the iconic tortoiseshell pattern that is synonymous with The Okura. The cookie uses selected high-quality ingredients, emphasizing Japan’s unique local products and seasonal aspects, reflecting the delicate Japanese aesthetics known as "wa no kokoro."
2. Special Gift Label
The Special Gift Label appeals to all gifting occasions, providing a diverse selection that includes double-brand collaborations and personalized gifts. Perfect for commemorating stays or offering souvenirs, the highlight here is the "Chako" baumkuchen, created in collaboration with Maruri Yoshida Seichaen, a recognized historical tea garden in Japan. It boasts a refined texture and delightful Uji matcha aroma, making it an ideal choice for those seeking quality gifts.
3. Precious Daily Label
This category focuses on convenience by offering freshly baked bread, gourmet deli items, groceries, and beverages—essentials for daily life. Great for personal enjoyment or thoughtful gifts, this label encourages the sharing of high-quality food experiences. The lineup ensures that daily living is enhanced by delightful choices that reflect a sophisticated and conscientious lifestyle.
