Value Card Launches Unique Cashless Payment Solution for Kawabe Supermarkets
Overview
In a significant move towards enhancing customer experience, Value Design, a subsidiary of PeiCloud Holdings (TSE Growth: 4015), has announced that its cloud-based payment service "Value Card" is now being utilized by Kawabe, a supermarket chain with five stores in Hyogo Prefecture. The collaboration, facilitated through partner Daiwa Bunkyo Printing Co., allows for seamless integration with Kawabe's exclusive app developed by Just Planning, enabling more effective service offerings.
About Value Design
Value Design specializes in cashless services for businesses in the food and retail sectors, providing various solutions that encourage customer retention by accumulating customer data in-store. Their cashless payment service, referred to as "Unique Pay," has already seen implementation in over 120,000 stores nationwide.
Integration with Kawabe
The introduction of the "Value Card" service aligns with Kawabe's mission to elevate customer convenience and satisfaction while utilizing digital tools for enhanced promotional activities. Alongside real cards, customers will benefit from a smartphone app that keeps them informed about discounts and campaigns in real-time. The application also facilitates easy access to check "Kawabe Pay" balances and transaction histories.
The spokesperson from Kawabe expressed a forward-looking approach: "We aim to promote usage of 'Kawabe Pay' and create campaigns that encourage customers to return. Additionally, leveraging digital marketing will help us reach younger audiences more effectively."
Charge Campaign
Kawabe will officially launch "Kawabe Pay" on September 1, 2025, ahead of which a charge campaign will run until August 31, 2025. Customers can enjoy perks from the campaign: a 2% return for deposits over ¥10,000 and a 3% return for deposits above ¥30,000. Furthermore, until December 31, 2025, shoppers will receive ¥2 back for every ¥200 spent, although this will adjust to ¥1 starting in 2026.
Service Structure
This partnership allows for comprehensive solutions tailored to Kawabe's needs, providing support from initiation to operation. Here’s how the collaboration is structured:
- - Application Development: Just Planning develops the Kawabe-specific app.
- - Unique Pay Provision: Value Design offers the cloud-based "Value Card" service.
- - Sales and Support: Daiwa Bunkyo Printing acts as the intermediary for comprehensive support.
