ChangAn Automobile Unveils Strategic Plans at Auto Shanghai 2025



At the prestigious Auto Shanghai 2025 event, ChangAn Automobile, a leader in intelligent low-carbon mobility technology, presented its exciting roadmap under the theme "Together for a Smarter World." The announcement on April 27, 2025, outlined three key strategic initiatives: the Shangri-La Mission for new energy vehicles, the Dubhe Plan focusing on smart technologies, and the Vast Ocean Plan aimed at global market expansion.

The Shangri-La Mission



The Shangri-La Mission is a bold initiative aiming at enhancing the company's product lineup over the next five years. ChangAn plans to launch a total of 45 entirely new models, including 37 new energy vehicles. The year 2025 alone will witness the introduction of 20 new models, featuring 12 new energy vehicles. Standout models include the AVATR 06, DEEPAL S09, and CHANG-AN Q07. In a partnership with CATL, ChangAn is also making strides in electrolyte technologies and solid-state batteries, with the prototype expected by the end of 2025 and mass production slated for 2027. Notably, the company showcased its innovative battery collision monitoring system along with the fast-charging Kirin 4C battery.

The Dubhe 2.0 Plan



Under the Dubhe 2.0 Plan, ChangAn has committed a substantial investment of 20 billion yuan over five years to develop advanced AI models and assisted driving technologies. Another 20 billion yuan will fund initiatives in the low-altitude economy, including the development of flying cars. Among the planned enhancements are significant upgrades to the Intelligent TS Drive, TY Cockpit, and TH Chassis systems, which will encompass over 50 intelligent features. Notably, the LiDAR PRO version of the Intelligent TS Drive system is set for mass production by late 2025. Furthermore, the company plans to invest over 200 billion yuan into new automotive technologies over the next decade, including ambitious projects like humanoid robots by 2028.

The Vast Ocean Plan



Lastly, the Vast Ocean Plan highlights ChangAn's commitment to global expansion with an investment of over $15 billion by 2030. The company aims to achieve annual international sales of 1.5 million vehicles and grow its overseas workforce to 10,000. The global strategy is designed to adapt a “6+2” layout, focusing on elevating five major regions to match the strategic importance of China. The company forecasts a rise in international market capacity from 30 million to 50 million, with plans to launch 11 KD projects in various countries, including Kazakhstan and Egypt, potentially adding 500,000 units of production capacity.
