Hands-On Learning: Summer School by Monozukuri EduBase Kicks Off in Tokyo

Experience Summer in a Creative Way with Monozukuri EduBase

Monozukuri EduBase, a private after-school program run by Science Club, is excited to announce its upcoming Summer School, set to take place from July 15 to September 4, 2026. This program will be available across 13 locations in the Tokyo metropolitan area, including popular districts like Jiyugaoka, Ginza, and Nakano.

Since its establishment in April 2025, EduBase has provided a creative and engaging environment for children to explore their interests and engage in hands-on learning. The Summer School marks an exciting expansion for the program, which is set to grow from its initial location to include twelve new sites by April 2026, bringing the total to 13. This initiative embodies the spirit of self-directed learning, empowering children to pursue their passions during their break from school.

The Summer School will focus on enabling children to have a fun and productive break, encouraging them to take the initiative in their learning journey. This is a time when kids can explore what they genuinely want to do rather than feeling pressured by traditional homework and assignments. The program’s slogan, “Let’s Build Our Capability to Complete Tasks!” encapsulates its approach, promoting an environment where children can choose their projects and dive deep into activities that inspire them.

Key Features of the Summer School

1. Self-Directed Exploration: Participants will have opportunities to engage in projects that ignite their creativity. Whether it’s caring for animals or experimenting with plant life, children will have the chance to work on what excites them the most. The program encourages self-discovery and personal investment in selected topics.

2. Creative Collaboration: Children can choose to work solo or form teams. This flexibility promotes both independent thinking and collective problem-solving, allowing kids to learn from each other while supporting their individual interests. The program emphasizes the balance of “Me Time” and “We Time,” highlighting the diverse educational benefits of both approaches.

3. Unique Educational Methodology: The hands-on, inquiry-based program is founded on Monozukuri EduBase’s unique educational methods, encouraging children to be active participants in their learning. With guidance from experienced staff, participants can take in-depth approaches to their projects, such as preparing snack items or conducting science experiments with precision.

4. Quality Equipment and Resources: Monozukuri EduBase provides a professional learning environment with top-notch equipment and learning materials, thanks to the expertise of the Science Club, which has operated science classes and programming courses for over 30 years. Children will have access to high-quality scientific instruments, electronic tools, and programming resources designed for effective learning.
