Exploring Collaborative Work: Dogs and Cats in Organizations
On June 22, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the Human Resources Library in Tokyo's Ningyocho will host an insightful event titled "Exploring Collaborative Work: Dogs and Cats Coexisting in Organizations." Organized by Trustyyle, this free event features prominent guest speaker Shin'ya Nakayama, the president of Nakayama Kosai Co., Ltd, and the dean of Rakuten University. With over 20 years of experience in supporting small and venture businesses, Nakayama aims to shed light on how diverse work styles can flourish within organizations.
The event aims to address a common question many employees face: "Wouldn't it be great to work more freely?" In workplaces, we often find individuals who thrive under clear instructions, likened to dogs, and those who prefer to operate according to their own pace and methods, reminiscent of cats. The key to creating an effective work environment lies in embracing the strengths of both types of individuals.
During the event, Nakayama will delve into his philosophy of allowing employees to work freely within organizational structures and discuss strategies for managing teams composed of both dog-like and cat-like employees. Attendees will gain insightful knowledge about building self-sustaining organizations and nurturing a healthy community that avoids burnout.
The event will serve as a perfect opportunity for those looking to balance directives with autonomy, fostering collaborative cultures, and encouraging all team members to engage actively in their roles. Those interested in exploring community building and collective creativity are particularly encouraged to join us.
