Buffalo Unveils Innovative Layer 2 Giga PoE Switches
In mid-September 2026, Buffalo Co., Ltd., headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, will introduce two new models of compact Layer 2 Giga PoE unmanaged switches specifically designed for businesses. The 5-port model, BSL-GU2005P, and the 8-port model, BSL-GU2008P, will be available for purchase, featuring designs ideal for space-constrained environments.
These PoE switches are engineered to cater to needs where installation space is limited, such as information distribution panels and hub storage boxes. Remarkably, their sleek design matches the size of a paperback book, allowing them to fit neatly in gaps around desks, on walls, or even in ceilings where traditional equipment would struggle to fit.
Features and Benefits
One of the most notable features of these switches is their versatile wall-mounting capability. Users can install the devices in up to four different orientations, adapting to how the LAN cables extend from the information distribution panels or storage boxes. This adaptability helps prevent excessive bending of cables, thereby reducing the risk of cable failure.
In addition to their flexible design, the switches comply with the IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) standard, boasting an impressive total power supply capacity of up to 65W. This means they can efficiently power multiple network cameras and Wi-Fi access points that require high power outputs, directly from the PoE switches.
