Noevir Group Reveals Immunity Benefits of Soybean-derived Fermented Liquid

Unveiling the Immunity-Boosting Properties of Soybean-Derived Fermented Liquid

In an impressive breakthrough, Noevir Group has developed a soybean-derived fermented liquid from Hokkaido’s specialty soybean known as "Otofuke Oosode." Building on over 20 years of rigorous research on soy isoflavones, this innovative product has been shown to enhance skin immunity and maintain balance.

The soybean-derived liquid is said to increase Langerhans cells, known as the skin’s immune commanders, which play a critical role in regulating immune responses against inflammation and skin troubles. Findings suggest that by enriching the skin’s immunity, this liquid helps restore natural qualities, resulting in stronger and more resilient skin, less susceptible to external irritants. Key results were shared during the recent Japanese Pharmaceutical Association's 146th Meeting, held from March 25 to 29, 2026.

Research Background

Soy isoflavones are recognized for their estrogen-like properties, linked to anti-inflammatory effects and maintenance of immune balance. However, excessive immune reactions may lead to skin troubles. Studies highlight the significance of Langerhans cells (LC) in regulating skin immunity, correlating their counts with enhanced barrier functions. Recent trends focus on two essential subclasses of Langerhans cells: the immunogenic LC, which promotes immune responses, and the tolerogenic LC, responsible for regulating inflammation.

Interestingly, despite its health benefits, the awareness surrounding soy isoflavones remains limited, with only 62% recognition in surveys. This lack of knowledge inspired Noevir’s continued research into soy's potential for skin health, particularly analyzing strains from across the country.

Key Research Findings

1. High Isoflavone Content in Otofuke Oosode Liquid
Analyzing 69 soybean varieties revealed that the "Otofuke Oosode" soybeans have significantly high levels of isoflavones. Through Noevir’s proprietary concentration techniques, they successfully enhanced the isoflavone content in their fermented liquid, showing promising results for skin benefits.

2. Enhanced Proliferation of Langerhans-like Cells
It is known that Langerhans cells diminish due to age and external stressors, which undermine skin defenses. The newly developed soybean-derived liquid has been found to stimulate these cells' proliferation, indicating its potential to bolster the skin's barrier functions and immune responsiveness.

3. Inducing the “Regulatory Type” of Langerhans Cells
Investigating the liquid's effects on immune balance revealed that it significantly increases the expression of PD-L1, a gene indicative of regulatory Langerhans cells. Conversely, it reduces the expression of the antigen-presentation gene HLA-DRA, highlighting its effect in steering Langerhans cells towards a more anti-inflammatory state.

Future Applications

Given the unique capabilities of the Otofuke Oosode soybean-derived fermented liquid to regulate immune functions and mitigate inflammation, Noevir has set a precedent for the development of advanced skincare products for the future. The findings reinforce the potential of soy-based components in enhancing skin wellness, promising products that contribute to the quality of life, consistent with Noevir's commitment to create exciting, health-enhancing beauty solutions.

In conclusion, this study signifies a significant stride toward developing novel skincare ingredients that emphasize the importance of skin immunity. By continuing to explore the virtues of soy alongside ongoing research, Noevir aspires to elevate the standards of skincare products available today.
