ZTE Emerges as a Leader in AI and Network Integration at GSMA M360 LATAM 2026
ZTE Corporation, a leading global provider of integrated information and communication technology solutions, has made a significant mark at the GSMA M360 LATAM 2026 event held in Mexico City. This year, the company showcased its vision for the future by focusing on the two-way integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and networks, a pivotal theme for transforming business models in the digital economy.
During the conference, Chen Zhiping, the Chief Representative of Global Ecosystem at ZTE, delivered a keynote speech emphasizing the industrial value of this integration. He shared insights on how ZTE has evolved over the past two decades in Latin America, demonstrating its innovative network practices and comprehensive smart solutions that have empowered local operators to transition from simple 'connectivity providers' to 'facilitators of the digital economy.'
With the rapid growth of AI, ZTE presented its strategic roadmap for 2025: 'All in AI, AI for All,' aiming to become a frontrunner in intelligent connectivity and computing. Chen highlighted that this strategy aligns with the key themes discussed at the GSMA summit. Looking ahead, ZTE plans to extend its infrastructure capabilities and organically transition its business model to encompass AI and intelligent computing. By establishing a two-way integration model where AI enhances networks and networks empower AI, ZTE aims to generate a new business paradigm in the AI era and stimulate the growth of the digital economy in Latin America.
ZTE has been one of the pioneers in introducing AI-native network concepts, deeply integrating AI functionalities throughout all levels and processes of the network. This approach is intended to maximize efficiency and reduce costs. In wireless networks, ZTE has launched the new 5G BBU that incorporates native intelligent processing capabilities, significantly improving hardware and software resource efficiency and boosting cell transmission speeds by 20%. Additionally, the combination of high-performance Super-N power amplifiers and AI-based optimization technology has reduced equipment energy consumption by 38%. These products have been successfully deployed across multiple countries in Latin America, including Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia, Brazil, and Peru, with over 37,000 units installed to date. These solutions facilitate significant energy savings for local operators, amounting to millions of dollars annually, enabling them to implement more efficient, sustainable, and intelligent network upgrades.
ZTE's advanced AI-native technology underpins its AIR Net intelligent network solution, enabling the commercial implementation of autonomous networks, fundamentally transforming operational and maintenance models for operators. The solution has already been commercially implemented across various global markets and achieved L4 certification from the TM Forum. CoClaw, an internally developed enterprise intelligent agent, is now fully operational. These innovations progressively enhance network automation and intelligence, guiding operators toward advanced smart networks.
To tackle the complexities and variety of network scenarios in Latin America, ZTE continues to roll out tailored coverage solutions aimed at bridging the digital divide in the region. For indoor environments, ZTE partnered with Chilean operator Millicom to implement the QCell solution, achieving stable gigabit coverage within buildings. In remote rural areas, ZTE collaborates with the Brazilian operator Claro to deploy RuralPilot, a simplified solution designed for rural networks that addresses cost containment and ease of maintenance, catering to the extensive Amazon region. Furthermore, ZTE offers a broad range of home connectivity solutions adapted to diverse network requirements across various Latin American regions and scenarios.
Chen Zhiping stated that ZTE will persist in working closely with operators in Latin America to support their evolution into enablers of the digital economy. Leveraging the two-way integration between AI and networks, along with a comprehensive portfolio of sustainable, efficient, and intelligent ICT solutions, ZTE aims to meet the needs of industries and households across all application scenarios, contributing to the establishment of an intelligent, inclusive, and sustainable digital ecosystem in the region.
