Venus Medtech Hosts First Global Partner Summit in Paris Focusing on Ideas, Innovation, and Impact
Venus Medtech's Global Partner Summit: A New Era in Cardiac Health
Venus Medtech, a leading player in the transcatheter heart valve technology sector, marked a significant milestone by hosting its inaugural Global Partner Summit in Paris. Under the theme of “Ideas, Innovation, Impact”, the event brought together distributors and commercial partners from around the globe. This summit was not just an opportunity for networking but also served as a platform to discuss the company's strategic growth, particularly in the realm of structural cardiac devices.
Growth and Innovational Synergy
The summit was opened by David Bréant, Venus Medtech's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He outlined the journey of Venus Medtech, highlighting how the company transitioned from a budding innovator to a formidable player in the global market of structural cardiac devices. Bréant emphasized the importance of clinical collaboration, product quality, and long-term projects in driving the company’s success.
As the discussions progressed, Hou-Sen Lim, the General Director and CEO, unveiled the company’s strategic roadmap. He elucidated the advancements across their transcatheter valve portfolio, pointing out the forthcoming regulatory milestones and commercial strategies that would shape the company's future. Lim emphasized a critical transition within the organization, evolving from a product-focused entity to a multi-platform corporation that underscores various therapies related to structural cardiac devices.
Spotlight on Cardiovalve
A key highlight of the summit was the presentation by Professor Francesco Maisano, head of cardiac surgery at the IRCCS San Raffaele University Hospital. He discussed the development of the Cardiovalve and the rising demand for transcatheter treatment options for mitral and tricuspid regurgitation (MR and TR). The design features of the Cardiovalve were detailed, showcasing its single-step transfemoral access, unified platform for mitral and tricuspid procedures, low-profile construction to mitigate left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) obstruction risks, and an adaptive sealing mechanism aimed at minimizing paravalvular leaks (PVL). Currently, the size of these devices is projected to accommodate approximately 85% of the target patient population.
Maisano’s insights drew attention to the growing clinical and commercial interest in therapies focusing on the tricuspid valve, often referred to as the “forgotten valve” due to historically limited treatment options. The implications of expanding this area of focus could revolutionize treatment options for many patients.
Strategic Importance of International Expansion
“Our international expansion remains an essential strategic priority for Venus Medtech,” stated Lim. He highlighted their recent international commercialization of the Venus P-Valve and the advancement of Venus-PowerX, Venus-Vitae, and Cardiovalve through clinical, regulatory, and commercial pathways. The commitment to building long-term clinical credibility and bolstering their global presence through a diversifying product portfolio was made clear.
Furthermore, Lim noted that continuous investments in local commercial capabilities, service infrastructure, and market-specific skills are vital for sustaining growth in key international markets.
