DoGo Power Introduces Innovative Grid-Enhancing Energy Storage System for Commercial and Utility Projects
DoGo Power's Game-Changing Energy Storage Systems
DoGo Power has officially unveiled its next-generation grid-forming energy storage systems (ESS), aimed at enhancing efficiency for both commercial and industrial (C&I) and utility-scale projects. Each unit promises to tackle longstanding issues within the energy sector, including elevated capital expenditure, intricate on-site installation, and compliance with increasingly stringent grid code regulations.
Key Features and Innovations
The flagship offering from DoGo Power is an all-in-one 10-foot container with a substantial capacity of 1,672 MWh, integrating the functionalities of six ESS units, each exceeding 260 kWh. Among its core components, the unit includes a combination cabinet, grid-enabled operations control unit, and a separating transformer, all of which contribute to a staggering 1.2 cents/Wh reduction in initial investment costs. Additionally, it minimizes the footprint by 35%, reducing site labor expenses and shaving off project timelines by an impressive 5 to 7 days.
The system stands out by functioning as a standalone microgrid that supports multiple energy sources and facilitates rapid switching between grid-tied and island mode within just 20 milliseconds. Moreover, the finely tuned power options and compatibility with third-party inverters allow operators to optimize their systems and maximize the reuse of existing hardware, paving the way for a more cost-effective setup.
While designed primarily for remote and geographically constrained sites, the 10-foot container weighs less than 22 tons, effectively doubling the number of eligible project locations compared to traditional 20-foot containers. For maritime transport, multiple units can be consolidated within a standard 20-foot container, thereby reducing shipping costs. Alternatively, individual 10-foot containers can be sent separately for sites with restricted access overland. This approach significantly diminishes the complexities associated with site installation, backed by factory pre-commissioning and quick-connect terminals.
The innovatively designed “Dynamic C-Rate Architecture” allows operators to implement a base two-hour configuration while strategically adding DC extension cabinets to dynamically adapt C-rates to changing operational demands.
Successful Pilot Project
Recently, DoGo Power completed a demonstration project for an off-grid photovoltaic energy storage microgrid in Pagerungan Kecil, Indonesia. This previously unconnected site grappled with unreliable electricity and high costs averaging 35 cents/kWh. Post-implementation, the solution offered by DoGo Power has remarkably decreased electricity costs for more than 3,000 residents by 81%. Over its lifetime, the system is projected to deliver more than 26 million kWh of stable energy while curbing carbon emissions by over 22,000 tons.
In conclusion, DoGo Power’s advancements in energy storage technology not only demonstrate the potential for transforming energy consumption in commercial sectors but also provide impactful solutions for regions facing energy challenges. As the company rolls out its innovative ESS portfolio, stakeholders can look forward to significant operational savings and environmental benefits.
