DATERISE! 2025: A Global Startup Event
On August 23, 2025, the city of Sendai will host its inaugural large-scale global startup event named 'DATERISE! 2025,' organized by 01Booster, a company dedicated to supporting open innovation and new business development. This event will feature a pitching contest, featuring several esteemed judges who have made significant contributions to various industries.
Meet the Judges of DATERISE! PITCH CONTEST
01Booster recently unveiled the five judges who will evaluate the startups during the pitch contest:

John Lim - Partner at Meet Ventures, a venture capital firm based in Singapore, specializes in supporting early-stage startups and has been involved with major corporations like Cisco and IBM. Lim has contributed to over 200 startups via innovation programs and is also known for his educational efforts at institutions like National University of Singapore.

Chris Burry - Co-CEO of the US Market Access Center, Burry is a serial entrepreneur and investor who has supported over 3,000 startup teams across 75 countries. His experience includes founding and selling eight companies and acting as a global ambassador for the UC Berkeley Skydeck program.

Yukako Yokota - As a partner at One Capital Healthcare, Yokota has an extensive background in neurobiology and strategy consulting, guiding efforts in corporate reformation and global expansion in health technology. Her mentorship at the Sendai Startup Studio greatly contributes to the startup landscape in the Tohoku region.

Ayumi Fujimoto - Leading the Startup Ecosystem Association, Fujimoto is a well-respected expert in human resources who has worked in significant roles at Google and other organizations. She is also active in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in Japan, serving as an advisor to the government.

George Goda - The CEO of 01Booster, Goda has a diverse background in engineering and marketing. He focuses on building international business development platforms and ecosystems, working with corporations and startups to promote innovation.
In addition to the pitch contest, a new session titled 'MICHINOKU ACADEMIA SESSION' will be introduced, featuring practical talks by deep-tech entrepreneurs from École Polytechnique in France. The session aims to provide lessons and insights for aspiring entrepreneurs. Bruno Martineau, Director of the Technology Venture Program at École Polytechnique, will lead the discussion, sharing his expertise in startup growth and innovation management.
