TAKAGI Group Establishes Comprehensive Agreement with Hokuei Town

On October 19, 2025, TAKAGI Group formally signed a comprehensive partnership agreement with Hokuei Town at the town's Daiei Office. This marks the sixth such agreement for the company with local municipalities across Japan. Under the leadership of President Hidekuni Takagi, the company plans to leverage its experience in community building through co-working spaces to invigorate the local area through human resources exchange and collaborative projects.

A Town Rich in Nature and Culture

Hokuei Town, nestled in the northern part of Tottori Prefecture, is well-known for its abundant natural landscapes and fertile agricultural land. The region is famous for its specialty products, such as watermelons, long yams, and shallots, which have received acclaim nationwide. Furthermore, it is recognized as the hometown of Gosho Aoyama, the renowned author of the popular manga series “Detective Conan” published by Shogakukan. The town actively uses its tourism resources to promote local development, featuring attractions like the ‘Gosho Aoyama Hometown Museum’ and ‘Conan Street,’ which are beloved by fans and visitors alike.

In recent years, Hokuei Town has focused on smart town development through the application of information and communication technology (ICT) and data utilization. The town has initiated various strategies to create relationships with urban populations and promote dual residency, catering to diverse lifestyles. These efforts aim for sustainable regional development through public-private partnerships, aspiring to set a new model for regional revitalization.

Supporting Community Cohesion through Space Utilization

The TAKAGI Group is expanding its real estate horizons by introducing a lifestyle creation brand called “BIRTH,” which focuses on connecting communities, environments, and education. The company's flagship co-working space, “BIRTH LAB/WORK,” located in Azabu Juban, Tokyo, serves as a base for creating an ecosystem that supports startups. This initiative gathers talents and enterprises from various sectors including IT, creative fields, public-private projects, education, finance, and human resources, thus forming a vibrant community of around 150 member companies as of October 2025.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, TAKAGI Group has explored collaboration with dining companies and embarked on complex projects such as “SALON 91º” in Ginza, promoting spaces that attract people both physically and digitally. Through collaborations with local governments and public-private partnerships in Taiwan, the group is striving to create new values beyond conventional real estate endeavors.

President Takagi expressed that the essence of their work revolves around connecting people within the built environment, striving to facilitate joyful and fulfilling lives for individuals in these spaces. He emphasizes that the partnership with Hokuei Town is not merely a one-way collaboration; rather, it is a joint commitment to generate value and uplift the community together.

Vision for Future Engagement

Hokuei Town Mayor Toshiki Teshima commented on the signing, expressing his enthusiasm for the collaboration with TAKAGI Group. He highlighted the town's ongoing efforts centered around tourism and agriculture, while aiming for further activation through this new partnership. Mayor Teshima reiterated that the agreement is the starting point for amplifying the town's charm and nurturing connections that will lead to the development of future hubs beneficial to its citizens.

President Takagi echoed this sentiment by discussing the significance of bridging gaps between the city and local communities. He envisions forging new dimensions of value creation in collaboration with Hokuei Town, steering toward a mutually beneficial partnership that enhances both the community and the enterprises involved.

TAKAGI Group’s Legacy

Founded in 1961, the TAKAGI Group started as a parking and rental management company, expanding into office building construction and management. Their legacy spans across several decades, adapting to the changing landscape of the real estate market while focusing on the inherent value of the tenants and the communities formed within their properties. With a philosophy centered around the motto, “For 'Stand by me,'” the group aims to create new real estate values that resonate with the evolving lifestyles of people today. Through initiatives like the BIRTH project, the TAKAGI Group is committed to driving regional revitalization and community cohesion actively.

As Hokuei Town and the TAKAGI Group embark on this promising journey together, the collaborative efforts are positioned to create a transformative impact that fosters not just growth but a thriving community spirit.
