Join the Community Chanukah Festival and Giant Menorah Lighting at Metro Centre in Owings Mills this December

Community Chanukah Festival & Giant Menorah Lighting

The festive spirit of Chanukah will be celebrated once again this year at the annual Community Chanukah Festival and Giant Menorah lighting, hosted by David S. Brown Enterprises in collaboration with Chabad of Owings Mills. Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, at the vibrant Metro Centre located in Owings Mills, Maryland.

A Welcoming Gathering for All

As the first night of Chanukah approaches, families from across the community are invited to come together in celebration. This year's event promises a warm, inclusive atmosphere, perfect for people of all ages. Attendees can look forward to an afternoon filled with crafts, face painting, and a visit from a Dreidel mascot. Treat yourself to refreshments like donuts and latkes, and enjoy the generous spirits of gift-giving as the community comes together to share in this festive occasion.

Special Ceremonial Lighting

The highlight of the evening will be the ceremonial lighting of the Esther Ann Menorah. This important ritual will be led by Rabbi Nochum Katsenelenbogen (Rabbi K.), the Director of Chabad of Owings Mills. The event will also feature the presence of Baltimore County Councilman Julian Jones, who will join the festivities, adding to the sense of community and celebration.

Rabbi K. expressed his sentiments about the meaning of Chanukah: "Chanukah teaches us that even a single flame has the power to transform its surroundings. When our community gathers to light the Menorah together, we strengthen one another, celebrate our shared heritage, and spread light far beyond this moment."

This event serves as an embodiment of unity, bringing people together to not only celebrate their faith but also to strengthen bonds within the community.

A Tradition of Celebration

According to Ken Bernstein, Senior Vice President of Retail Leasing at David S. Brown Enterprises,
"Events like the Chanukah Festival reflect the vibrant, inclusive spirit we strive to cultivate at Metro Centre. We are proud to partner with Rabbi K. and Chabad of Owings Mills to host meaningful celebrations that unite families, cultures, and traditions. The Giant Menorah Lighting has become a cherished tradition here, and we're thrilled to continue supporting it."

Brent Mangum, Vice President of Office Leasing at David S. Brown Enterprises, echoed similar sentiments, stating that Metro Centre is more than a destination; it is a vibrant community hub where events like the Menorah Lighting create moments that connect diverse individuals through shared experiences.

Community-Centric Approach

Further emphasizing the importance of community, Noah Adler, a Commercial Leasing Associate at David S. Brown Enterprises, shared how inspiring it is to see the community come together for the Menorah Lighting each year. He notes that the energy, joy, and sense of togetherness reflect the very essence of Metro Centre’s vision.
