Enhancing Cybersecurity: KnowBe4's Advanced AI Tools for Human Risk Management

KnowBe4 Unveils Advanced AI Capabilities for Enhanced Cyber Defense

At the recent Black Hat USA Conference held in Las Vegas, distinguished cybersecurity firm KnowBe4 announced the expansion of its AI-driven capabilities aimed at reinforcing human risk management (HRM). With a focus on helping organizations combat increasing cybersecurity threats, KnowBe4's HRM+ platform now includes six advanced AI agents, with plans to introduce an additional six by the close of 2025.

The company has successfully assisted its clients in significantly improving their HRM programs. A prime example comes from First Community Credit Union. Utilizing KnowBe4's innovative platform and its flagship product AIDA (Artificial Intelligence Defense Agents), the institution has remarkably reduced its Phish-prone Percentage (PPP) to an impressive one percent. This achievement underscores the effectiveness of combining human expertise with AI technology in enhancing security protocols.

AIDA is designed to provide organizations with comprehensive insights into their human risk profiles. By leveraging the SmartRisk Agent, it analyzes a wealth of 316 indicators that influence 37 key factors across seven distinct knowledge areas. The resulting data empowers organizations to undertake automated, targeted actions tailored to their unique threat landscapes, allowing security teams to operate more efficiently, train smarter, and reinforce overall defenses.

Bryan Perkola, the Senior Vice President of Information Security at First Community Credit Union, expressed his reliance on KnowBe4's solutions, particularly the AIDA products, which he states have reshaped their approach to security awareness. In a recent promotional video, Perkola emphasized the impact of AI on their defenses, noting, "We've recently started using the AIDA products in our defenses. So being able to show how AI is actually influencing what we're doing with the defenses now versus the threats has been very significant. I couldn't imagine switching to anything else."

This sentiment is echoed by KnowBe4's CEO, Bryan Palma, who highlighted the company’s commitment to AI leadership within the cybersecurity sphere. "Our customers are engaged in an AI arms race with cybercriminals. By expanding the agentic capabilities of our HRM+ platform, we equip defenders with smarter, data-driven defenses to outpace attackers."

In addition to AIDA, KnowBe4 has introduced PhishML Insights as part of its PhishER+ suite. This advanced AI feature enables information security teams to discern emerging attack patterns by establishing personalized confidence thresholds for email threat classifications. Users receive thorough explanations detailing why each email has been categorized as clean, spam, or having potential threats.

For those interested in learning more about customer success stories or exploring the full range of KnowBe4’s products, the company invites attendees to visit their booth at the Black Hat USA conference, located at booth number 1661, on August 6 and 7, 2025.
