As we approach October 1st, known as Coffee Day, De'Longhi Japan has released the results of its 2025 Coffee Consumption Survey, which surveyed 500 participants aged 20 to 69 who drink coffee at home at least once a week. The results highlight significant shifts in coffee drinking habits amid rising health consciousness and economic changes such as inflation and currency fluctuations.

Key Findings of the Survey


1. Rising Popularity of Milk-Based Espresso Menus: There has been an increase in the popularity of milk menus, particularly variations like café au lait and café latte.
2. Confusion about Milk Menus: Only about 20% of respondents correctly identified the differences between café au lait and café latte.
3. Changing Preferences: A growing trend among younger consumers is the use of fully automatic machines at home, opting for freshly ground coffee beans.
4. Health Consciousness: Over 50% of respondents drink coffee for health reasons, marking a notable trend toward health-oriented consumption. Additionally, 11.6% have tried the trending coffee-protein mix, termed
