TMJ Earns the 'Best Workplace' Certification at D&I AWARD 2025

TMJ Achieves 'Best Workplace' Recognition at D&I AWARD 2025

In an impressive recognition of its commitment to diversity and inclusion (D&I), TMJ, a member of the Secom Group, secured the 'Best Workplace' accolade at the prestigious D&I AWARD 2025 held in Japan. TMJ has been leading efforts to foster an inclusive environment within its operations, particularly in their contact center and back-office service management.

The D&I AWARD 2025, managed by JobRainbow, is one of Japan's largest awards recognizing corporate achievements in diversity and inclusion. The award evaluates companies based on a comprehensive assessment of their practices in five critical categories: gender, LGBTQ+, disabilities, multiculturalism, and family caregiving. This year, TMJ was recognized for its outstanding efforts, advancing from an 'Advanced' rating in its inaugural year of participation to the top 'Best Workplace' level.

Understanding the D&I AWARD

The D&I AWARD evaluates companies using a diversity score based on responses to 100 questions structured within the five categories mentioned. Companies are then classified into four levels: Beginner, Standard, Advanced, and Best Workplace. The assessments provide transparency, allowing companies to visualize and improve their D&I strategies effectively. TMJ’s journey exemplifies the tangible impacts such frameworks can have on corporate culture.

The recognition of 'Best Workplace' is granted to entities that not only foster D&I within Japan but also set a global standard. Accredited businesses actively cultivate a culture of diversity that is reflected across all aspects of their operations. Moreover, the positive influence of these D&I initiatives often extends beyond the company, fostering broader societal impacts.

TMJ’s Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

In July 2023, TMJ formalized its dedication to sustainability through the publication of a 'Sustainability Declaration,' where it emphasized 'human capital' as a key focus area. As part of its DEI initiatives, the company launched several impactful measures to support women in their career development, including expanding the eligibility for its childcare short-time work system to parents of children up to elementary school graduation. Additionally, TMJ has integrated common-law partnerships and same-sex partners into their allowance and special leave frameworks, promoting greater flexibility in seeking career support.

In advancing disability employment, TMJ has made significant strides to ensure that individuals can work in environments comparable to their peers, promoting 'true inclusion.' As part of its ongoing commitment, TMJ plans to publish a 'Human Rights Policy' in October 2024, which underscores their pledge to uphold human rights within corporate practices.

Following the development of this policy, TMJ aims to implement customer response and harassment response policies based on the same principles by September 2025, addressing human rights issues such as discrimination, harassment, and workplace safety as core to its corporate culture.

Looking Ahead

With its robust policies and consistent improvements in workplace inclusivity, TMJ showcases a model for companies striving to enhance their D&I practices. The recognition at the D&I AWARD 2025 highlights TMJ's commitment, promoting an inclusive culture that benefits employees and sets a standard for others in the industry. As TMJ continues to evolve its strategies, it will undoubtedly inspire efforts within Japan and globally, fostering a more equitable future for all employees.
