Equip Expo's Recognition at the Gold 100 Awards

On September 4, 2025, the Equip Exposition, known as the premier gathering for landscapers, contractors, and manufacturers of outdoor power equipment, earned notable recognition by being named a finalist in four distinct categories at the prestigious Trade Show Executive's Gold 100 Grand Awards. These categories include "Best Use of Technology and Data," "Best New Launch," the "Against All Odds Award," and the significant accolade of "The Greatest Trade Show of 2024."

Kris Kiser, the President of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI), which manages the expo, highlighted that these nominations reflect the relentless dedication and hard work of the Equip team, who strive to enhance the event year after year based on feedback from attendees. The Equip Expo has consistently met the gold standard in programming and events, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to the industry.

Since OPEI took control and revamped the expo in 2022, Equip Expo has seen a remarkable trajectory, receiving 12 Grand Award nominations over the years and winning accolades for both "Most Innovative Show" and "Best New Idea." This year stands out as the fourth consecutive time that the floor of the trade show has sold out the fastest in recorded history, attracting a record attendance of over 28,500 registered contractors, dealers, and manufacturers.

"Nowhere else can you find all the technology our industry has to offer in a single venue. To witness the most innovative advancements, participants must attend the Equip Exposition," Kiser stated, alluding to the latest smart technologies presented at the event, including those for lighting, equipment, irrigation, and safety.

Set on 30 acres of outdoor space, the event features a Demo Yard where attendees can physically engage with the latest equipment innovations by mowing, mulching, digging, and testing. Additionally, participants can experience riding the latest four-wheel utility vehicles on a newly expanded UTV Test Track designed with various challenges like mud, rocks, and turns.

The Equip Expo facilitates an environment for landscapers, dealers, contractors, hardscape experts, and outdoor power equipment manufacturers to connect and learn through valuable networking events alongside comprehensive educational sessions. Highlights of the event include a Welcome Reception at Churchill Downs, with sponsorship from Caterpillar, as well as a Wednesday night 4th Street Party sponsored by the Propane Education and Research Council. The festivities will culminate with a concert by Big & Rich and Gretchen Wilson at the Kentucky International Convention Center, sponsored by Gravely.

The Gold 100 Summit, known for celebrating the leading trade shows in the United States, gives associations and independent show organizers the platform to showcase their achievements. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Palm Springs, California, from October 14-17.
