FANCL Distributes Skincare Educational Materials to Elementary Schools Across Japan

FANCL's Innovative Educational Initiative for Young Learners

Starting from May 25, 2026, FANCL Corporation is launching an initiative to distribute skincare educational materials specifically designed for 4th-grade students across elementary schools in Japan. With an aim to enlighten young minds about skincare and its importance, the company plans to distribute a remarkable 100,000 copies of a supplementary textbook titled "The Secrets of Skin That Create the Future," which will come in a concise 16-page format.

The materials are crafted to align with the health curriculum for 4th graders, focusing on the changes that occur during puberty. This engaging textbook introduces children to the idea that their skin is constantly evolving, consisting of valuable information on skin functions, the changes in hydration and oil levels as puberty approaches, effects of external factors like UV rays, and the significance of proper skincare methods. Utilizing appealing illustrations and charts, the content strives to pique students’ interest and encourage them to think critically about how to maintain healthy skin.

In addition to the printed materials, FANCL intends to provide a digital version of the textbook and a comprehensive teacher’s manual. This supplementary booklet not only aids in classroom learning but also encourages students to review what they’ve learned at home alongside their families, effectively bridging the gap between school and home practice.

Key Highlights of the Educational Materials

For Students

The student-friendly supplement aims to foster an awareness of their current skin condition and stimulate curiosity regarding skincare. The engaging cover incorporates a QR code that links to videos featuring skin-related quizzes, helping to spark interest at the beginning of lessons. The textbook uses a clear and gentle narrative to explain skin structure and function, illustrating how moisture and oil levels fluctuate in preparation for puberty. Furthermore, children will learn about the impact of environmental factors, such as UV radiation, on their skin’s health, prompting them to consider ways to protect their skin and understand the relationship between daily habits and skin health.

For Teachers

The teacher’s manual is designed to integrate smoothly into the 4th graders’ health education curriculum, as well as facilitate wider applications in comprehensive learning sessions. It features lesson plans and resources related to children’s skin, providing valuable guidance to assist educators in delivering the material effectively.

Background of the Initiative

FANCL recognizes the necessity for children, especially at the critical age of 4th grade, to develop an understanding of their skincare needs and the importance of safeguarding their skin from external factors like UV rays. This age group often experiences noticeable changes in their skin, making it crucial for them to not only understand but also nurture a proactive attitude toward their skin's health. The goal behind the creation of this educational material is to ignite an interest in skincare among children, helping them appreciate the importance of healthy skin and adopting skincare routines. The initiative has been developed in collaboration with Social Services Corporation.

With these resources, FANCL hopes to equip young learners with the knowledge and skills they need to take better care of their skin and cultivate healthy habits that last a lifetime.
