Husqvarna Group Appoints Glen Instone as New CEO to Drive Strategy Forward

Glen Instone Appointed CEO of Husqvarna Group

Husqvarna AB's Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Glen Instone as the new Chief Executive Officer of Husqvarna Group. With a wealth of experience in the industry, Glen will take on the leadership role starting August 11, 2025, succeeding Pavel Hajman, who is set to depart from the organization by the end of the year.

Glen Instone has been a vital part of the Husqvarna team since 2002, currently serving as the President of the Forest and Garden Division. His extensive background and understanding of both the business and operational aspects make him a valuable asset for the company's future direction. The Chairman of Husqvarna AB, Torbjörn Lööf, expressed the Board's confidence in Instone, stating, "His deep knowledge of our business and strong leadership skills will be of great value to further strengthen and grow the Group moving forward."

As the company gears up for what it describes as the next strategic phase, Glen is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's updated strategy, which will be unveiled during the upcoming Capital Markets Day scheduled for December. This strategic revamp is crucial as it comes at a time when the organization looks to maintain its position as a leader in providing innovative forestry and gardening solutions.

Torbjörn Lööf also took the opportunity to thank Pavel Hajman for his significant contributions over the years. As CEO since December 2022, Pavel has successfully guided the Group through a transformative period, helping to align the company's focus on the future. His leadership has been instrumental in the Group's growth and positioning.

In a statement regarding his new role, Glen Instone shared his pride in the company’s achievements and emphasized his commitment to leading the talented team during this critical time. "For over 335 years, we have continuously reinvented ourselves, driving industry transformation with our customers always at the heart of what we do," Instone remarked. His longstanding commitment to Husqvarna reflects a continuous pursuit of innovation and operational excellence.

Glen brings a unique blend of qualifications to his new role. Born in England, he is a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) and holds a B.A. (Hons) in Accounting and Finance. His journey through various positions within Husqvarna, including Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Vice President of Global Sales & Services, has equipped him with insights and skills that are vital for steering the company towards future successes.

Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, the Husqvarna Group has been a pioneer in manufacturing solutions for managing forests, parks, and gardens, handling a wide array of tools and products including robotic mowers and chainsaws. The company also operates under the Gardena brand, serving consumers and professionals in over 100 countries, with net sales reported at SEK 48.4 billion in 2024. With a dedicated workforce of around 12,300 employees in 40 countries, Husqvarna continues to focus on sustainability and innovation, marking a significant legacy that dates back to its establishment in 1689.

As Glen Instone steps into his new role, the future of Husqvarna Group looks promising, with strategic innovations on the horizon that align with the company’s values of quality and customer centricity. The next few months will be crucial as Instone and his team unveil their plans during the Capital Markets Day, an event that will likely set the tone for the company's trajectory in the coming years.
