KIMONO ARCH Unveils Versatile Cotton Kimono for Everyday Wear

KIMONO ARCH Launches Everyday Cotton Kimono

KIMONO ARCH, a brand under Yamato Co., Ltd., headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, is gearing up for a unique launch. Starting March 28, 2026, the brand will roll out its first collection for the Spring & Summer season, introducing the "cotton kimono". This collection embodies convenience and practicality, designed to fit seamlessly into daily life.

The cotton kimono emphasizes comfort without sacrificing style. Its durability and utility allow it to function much like workwear, offering a stylish yet easygoing option for various occasions. Whether it's sunny or rainy, this versatile garment aims to be a go-to choice that you'll find yourself reaching for time and time again.

Brand Philosophy

KIMONO ARCH operates under the philosophy of "viewing the world through kimono." The brand intricately weaves together Japan's rich cultural allure with fascinating elements from across the globe. KIMONO ARCH serves as a bridge, showcasing the excitement of discovering new facets of oneself through free-spirited kimono styling.

The 2026 Spring & Summer Collection

The cotton kimono is a staple that boasts practicality for daily wear. It evokes the essence of workwear while ensuring that it is an enjoyable part of everyday dress. Crafted from fabrics that dialogue with their respective production regions, such as Kurume Kasuri and Katakai Cotton, these kimonos are positioned as modern-day casual attire.

Product Highlights

1. Kimono / Kurume Kasuri Aurora
- Details: Showcasing a gradient created in weaving, this piece is unique in that no two sections share the same color combination. This variation adds a rich depth to the garment’s appearance. Three types of warp threads dyed in two colors create six colors of gradient, resulting in a dreamy color shift reminiscent of the aurora.
- Price: 5,000 (including tax and tailoring)
- Material: 100% Cotton

2. Kimono / Kurume Kasuri Linear
- Details: Featuring an innovative pattern design using the freedom of Kasuri, this piece intertwines two colors of Kasuri yarn to create a variety of designs. The use of top-dyed threads gives it a casual look similar to denim while maintaining an elegant flat-weave finish. The addition of linen yarn lends a light feel, offering a fresh take on summer kimonos.
- Price: 5,000 (including tax and tailoring)
- Material: 48% Cotton, 52% Linen

3. Samue / Katakai Cotton with Soot Dye & Benigara
- Details: Historically used as workwear in Zen temples, the samue retains its practical essence while incorporating KIMONO ARCH’s playful spirit. Simple designs enhance its casual charm, adorned with bows and gathers at the collar and sleeve. This outfit pairs beautifully with matching monpe for a stylish look. Made from Katakai Cotton, the fabric features a subtle irregular Kasuri pattern, dyed with natural colors like soot and persimmon. The interplay of deep soot and warm red tones creates a beautiful depth in color.
- Price: Samue 5,000 (including tailoring), Monpe 3,000 (including tailoring)
- Size: Free
- Material: 100% Cotton
