XCMG Technician College: A Global Hub for Elite Industry Talent Development

XCMG Technician College: Empowering the Future of Engineering

In a rapidly evolving global landscape, XCMG Technician College stands out as a premier institution dedicated to the development of elite talent in the machinery industry. Founded by XCMG Machinery, a leader in construction machinery manufacturing, this vocational school is not just a technical training ground, but a beacon for aspiring engineers worldwide.

On December 1, 2024, the college conducted a specialized engineering training program in Indonesia for the first time, focusing on mining trucks and excavators. Over 30 students partook in a month-long course, after which they received intermediate worker certificates, illustrating the strong commitment of XCMG to nurture local talents in line with the company’s global strategy.

Kong Xiaohui, the assistant dean of XCMG Technician College, aptly summarized the purpose of the institution, stating, "Our technical school is dedicated to cultivating local talents in accordance with the international standards of engineering. By empowering elite professionals, we enhance our operational capabilities and better serve our clients’ diverse engineering needs."

This commitment is particularly crucial given the ongoing urbanization of emerging markets and the modernization efforts in developed economies. High-quality service provision is becoming a vital element for advancing the machinery sector toward a high-end global value chain. XCMG Technician College has responded by rolling out over 20 international training programs spanning 25 countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, having trained more than 3,000 talents to date.

For instance, the "Blue Sea Elite" technical training initiative launched in collaboration with the Erfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Germany has successfully equipped more than 400 students since August 2021. Additionally, since 2021, the international service engineer training program has empowered over 400 individuals for global business roles; while 300 people have received training for overseas product management.

Notably, in 2022, the college expanded its reach by sending teachers to Gabon, Africa, for a six-month key account service training project. They introduced knowledge across 22 construction machinery products and nearly 40 course materials, thus enhancing local workforce skills. A local professor, Kassa Barnabe, from the University of Science and Technology of Masuku, remarked, "Through this program, we have learned the Chinese professional qualification standards, which we can share with other universities and students to help Gabonese workers upgrade their qualifications and operate equipment more efficiently."

The college's efforts took a significant leap forward in February 2025 with the launch of China’s first engineering machinery training platform aimed at assessing professional competencies. This initiative not only serves to cultivate global talents but also illustrates the sharing of Chinese expertise around the world, hence fortifying the institution’s commitment to global talent development.

XCMG Technician College symbolizes a dynamic shift in how industry talents are cultivated in the machinery sector. By investing in talent development and embracing global standards, it plays a crucial role in ensuring that the industry can meet evolving technological demands and integrated service requirements. Thus, as XCMG continues its mission of fostering elite engineers, the college is set to remain a cornerstone in the educational landscape of the engineering industry, driving innovation and excellence worldwide.
