Toyota's Empowering Community Initiatives Shine at Super Bowl LIX and Pro Bowl Games

In an exciting announcement, Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) revealed a dynamic series of events designed to engage fans and uplift communities during the 2025 Pro Bowl Games in Orlando and Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. As the "Official Automotive Partner of the NFL," Toyota is committed to highlighting the talents of emerging stars while advocating for youth engagement in football across the nation.

A Legacy of Support for Football

Michael Tripp, group vice president of Toyota division marketing, emphasized the company's dedication to fostering the next generation of football talent. "Our partnership with the NFL demonstrates our focus on supporting the next generation of football players, from youth leagues, high schools, HBCUs, to current NFL players," Tripp stated. This partnership builds on Toyota's long-standing legacy in football that spans over 68 years, aiming to make a tangible, positive impact on communities through initiatives like NFL FLAG.

Spotlighting Youth through Innovative Events

One of the standout events at the Pro Bowl Games is the NFL FLAG HBCU Tournament, where Toyota will celebrate Historically Black Colleges and Universities by hosting the inaugural HBCU flag football tournament. Scheduled from January 30 to February 1, the tournament will feature over 250 athletes from HBCU flag football programs nationwide. Participants are set to experience the fame akin to that given to professional football players, enhancing their journey in the sport.

Tripp remarked, "Our support of NFL FLAG offers opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy football's countless emotional and physical benefits. We saw this as a way to connect our long-standing support for HBCUs with our wider commitment to all flag players nationwide."

The Glow Up Classic: A Unique Experience for New Orleans Youth

In an innovative approach, Toyota will host the Glow Up Classic on February 4, where youth players in New Orleans will participate in flag football games set in darkness, illuminated only by black lights reflecting their vibrant UV-reactive jerseys. This event highlights an important issue: less than 20% of kids in Orleans Parish actively participate in sports, primarily due to financial barriers. Toyota aims to address this by transforming the local 18th Ward Field with permanent lighting, establishing a hub for community sports that outlasts the event itself.

Dedra DeLilli, vice president of marketing communications at TMNA, noted, "NFL FLAG empowers athletes of all ages and abilities to experience football's lasting benefits. Building the next generation of stars requires community support; this game spotlights incredible players who thrive when given the chance."

Interactive Fan Experiences at Super Bowl Experience

Fans can also look forward to exciting interactive experiences featuring top NFL athletes. During the Super Bowl Experience (February 5-8), fans will have the chance to engage with augmented reality technology, allowing them to ride alongside NFL stars in a simulated driving experience. Participants can choose from popular players such as Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers and Eli Manning, providing fans a unique glimpse into the NFL lifestyle.

Honoring NFL FLAG Stars at NFL Honors

The NFL FLAG Players of the Year, recognized for their remarkable skill and community involvement, will be honored at the NFL Honors event on February 6, 2025. This prestigious recognition aims to celebrate the values that NFL FLAG embodies, both on and off the field.

Toyota's Commitment to the Future

Toyota's support extends to sponsoring 1,800 local leagues, empowering approximately 750,000 youth athletes nationwide with the opportunity to engage in non-contact football. The company actively participates in showcasing its latest vehicles, like the 2025 Tacoma TRD Pro Hybrid and the 2025 Sequoia Capstone, during these events, emphasizing Toyota's dedication to both sports and sustainable mobility.

As the event approaches, Toyota will continue its mission of uplifting communities through football, ensuring that both the Pro Bowl Games and Super Bowl LIX are memorable for attendees and participants alike.
