Kazakhstan Unveils Its First Community Center: A New Era for Kosshy
Kazakhstans's First Multi-Functional Community Center
Kazakhstan has taken a significant step towards community development with the opening of its very first multi-functional community center in Kosshy, located in the Akmola region. This initiative, brought to life by Verny Capital in collaboration with the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation, represents a new standard for social and cultural infrastructure in the nation.
A Vision Turned Reality
In a grand ceremony held on March 20, 2025, dignitaries including Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister, Yermek Kosherbayev, and Akim of the Akmola Region, Marat Akhmetzhanov, celebrated the center's inauguration, marking a pivotal moment for local residents. With an impressive investment of $20 million, the 8,550 square meter facility is designed to serve the diverse needs of the community, ensuring accessibility for everyone.
The center embodies a modern architectural vision, featuring various spaces aimed to foster learning, recreation, and social interaction. It includes a 233-seat cinema, a 328-seat lecture hall, and numerous exhibition and conference rooms. For creative endeavors, there are dedicated studios, coworking spaces, and a library, catering to both artistic pursuits and educational needs.
A Hub for Community Engagement
Physical activity and sports are integral to the center’s offerings. The multi-purpose sports hall is designed to accommodate various indoor games while outdoor courts for football, basketball, volleyball, and tennis enrich the community's recreational options. Furthermore, the center features well-planned workout zones and a walking alley, enhancing the overall experience for visitors.
A standout aspect of the Kosshy Community Center is its commitment to youth development. Various programs, including robotics, chess, dance, and crafts, provide children with opportunities to explore and expand their interests. Adults can also benefit through educational sessions and accessible coworking spaces that promote professional growth.
The Foundation's Commitment
Bulat Utemuratov Foundation's founder, Bulat Utemuratov, emphasized the organization's commitment to improving life for communities across Kazakhstan.
