The Chicago Auto Show's First Look for Charity event held on February 10, 2026, proved to be a resounding success, raising an impressive
$2,029,471.22 for 18 local charities. This annual black-tie gala, organized by the Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA) and supported by new-car dealers from the Chicagoland area, continues to make a significant impact, having amassed more than
$67 million since its inception 34 years ago.
Jason Roberts, the chairman of the Chicago Auto Show, highlighted the vital role that local new-car dealers play in their communities, emphasizing their commitment not just to business but to service and philanthropy. “This black-tie event honors the culmination of a year's worth of passion, partnership, and commitment to making a difference,” he stated.
This year's First Look for Charity event allowed
exclusive access to the Chicago Auto Show a day before it opened to the general public, creating a unique experience for the attendees. Tickets for the gala were priced at
$325 each, with guests having the option to allocate their contributions to all participating charities or select a specific one. The atmosphere was enriched with gourmet food from prestigious local restaurants, live music, and premium drinks.
To add excitement, two brand-new vehicles were given away during the event, including a
2026 Chevrolet Equinox and a
2026 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid, both provided by local Chicagoland dealers. The unveiling of these prizes brought an added thrill to the already festive night.
The 2026 beneficiaries included well-known organizations such as the
100 Club of Illinois,
Advocate Health Care,
Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago, and
Susan G. Komen, Chicago. These charities are integral to community development, supporting everything from health care to education and beyond.
In addition to the gala, the ongoing initiative known as
Chicagoland Dealers Care ensures that CATA dealer members contribute to local charities throughout the year, effectively matching their donations and promoting continuous support for community needs.
The First Look for Charity gala is not just a fundraising event; it embodies the spirit of community involvement and service in Illinois, ensuring it remains a highlight of the auto show season.
The
