SANY Heavy Truck's Commitment to Electric Transportation

At the IAA Transportation 2026, SANY Heavy Truck, in collaboration with Putzmeister, unveiled its latest battery-electric truck portfolio under the slogan "Here to Stay." The event, held in Hannover, Germany, saw the introduction of the SE636, a heavy-duty electric truck specifically designed for the European market.

The centerpiece of SANY’s exhibition was the SE636, which boasts an impressive 636-kWh battery system capable of delivering a remarkable range of up to 500 kilometers. This 10.9-ton truck has already received EU whole vehicle type approval, marking it as a significant milestone as it stands out as the first production-ready electric heavy-duty truck from a Chinese manufacturer to achieve such certification.

Long-Term Strategy for Europe

Kevin Eichele, the head of product and business development for SANY-Putzmeister in the electric heavy-duty truck sector, shared insights during the press conference. He emphasized SANY’s commitment to a long-term strategy focused on production-ready vehicles that comply with European certifications and validated through real-world fleet operations. This commitment aligns with the growing demand for sustainable transport solutions across Europe.

Experiencing the New Technology Firsthand

During the event, SANY facilitated a two-kilometer test track, allowing fleet operators, logistics customers, and media representatives from Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, and other markets to experience the electric trucks firsthand. Attendees praised the SE636 for its smooth acceleration, impressive energy recovery performance, and low cabin noise level, highlighting the advancements in electric truck technology.

To date, SANY has deployed over 70,000 electric heavy-duty trucks worldwide. Since commencing localized operations in Europe in 2022, the company has successfully penetrated 15 European markets, accumulating more than 20 million kilometers in operational mileage across its fleet of electric commercial vehicles.

Comprehensive Service Support

Recognizing the importance of reliable after-sales support, SANY has established a comprehensive customer support network across Europe. Partnering with established local service affiliates, they offer access to approximately 650 workshops for routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs. Additionally, SANY provides a 24/7 breakdown service, ensuring their electric truck owners have the support they require for uninterrupted operations.

The establishment of European service teams enhances this commitment by offering specialized assistance for complex service needs, affirming SANY’s dedication to long-term fleet viability.
