Charter Next Generation Unveils Sustainable GreenArrow™ Matte-Finish Print Film for Eco-Conscious Packaging
Charter Next Generation Launches GreenArrow™ Matte-Finish MDO-PE Print Film
Charter Next Generation (CNG), a premier name in the realm of sustainable material solutions, has recently broadened its GreenArrow™ portfolio by launching a new matte-finish machine-direction-oriented polyethylene (MDO-PE) print film. This innovative film has been designed to meet the How2Recycle® guidelines pertaining to store drop-off recycling, which has been validated through a prequalification letter. This latest product showcases CNG's ongoing commitment to sustainability and material science expertise.
Manufactured utilizing CNG's cutting-edge MDO technology, the GreenArrow™ matte-finish film incorporates a sophisticated matte aesthetic directly into the material, thus eliminating the requirement for additional coatings or overprint varnishes. This development not only presents a cost-effective solution but also streamlines operations, guarantees consistent machineability, and allows for swifter turnaround times, which are critical for converters and consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands.
The GreenArrow™ matte-finish MDO-PE print film is an answer to the growing demand for effective and sustainable packaging solutions. CNG has established multiple MDO-PE lines operating from its facilities in Milton, Wisconsin, and Lexington, Ohio. As a result, CNG possesses the broadest capabilities in North America to meet increasing demands for GreenArrow™ recycle-ready solutions.
In the manufacturing process, the film undergoes stretching in the machine direction to improve its strength, stiffness, and heat resistance while simultaneously reducing material usage. The outcome is a thinner film that boasts greater efficiency in high-speed converting and enhanced package integrity, all without compromising durability. These advancements provide distinct advantages for today's fast-evolving packaging formats.
James Rosenberger, CNG's Product Manager of Sustainable Solutions, stated, "Our customers have been seeking a simplified film solution that not only showcases a premium matte finish but also aligns with their sustainability objectives. We're thrilled to offer our new matte MDO-PE print film as a total solution that allows brands to create packaging suitable for recycling with both aesthetic appeal and an improved tactile experience."
The CNG GreenArrow™ matte-finish MDO-PE film is positioned as a leading sustainable packaging alternative, ensuring modern shelf appeal and tactile differentiation while remaining recyclable. This new film is particularly well-suited for a range of applications, including food packaging, pet food, confectionery products, labels, and more, catering to brands that seek to merge premium presentation with sustainability.
The GreenArrow™ line is recognized as CNG's flagship collection of sustainable films, expanding into recycle-ready, recycled content, compostable, and low-carbon solutions. The commitment to sustainability is underscored by the fact that GreenArrow™ has been chosen by numerous leading global brands, further cementing CNG's position of leadership in the recyclable film industry. This reputation is strengthened by an impressive portfolio, featuring more than 450 How2Recycle® pre-qualification letters across its product lines.
CNG will showcase the new GreenArrow™ matte-finish MDO-PE print film at the Pack Expo Las Vegas 2025, scheduled for September 28 to October 1. Attendees are invited to engage with the product development team and to explore material samples at booth SL-17037.
