Omni Fort Lauderdale Introduces Barchetta: A Coastal Italian Dining Experience
The Launch of Barchetta at Omni Fort Lauderdale
Omni Fort Lauderdale has added a new gem to its culinary offerings with the grand opening of Barchetta, a coastal Italian chophouse. This exciting new venue sits gracefully overlooking the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway, located at 1880 SE 17th St., just adjacent to the hotel and the Broward County Convention Center.
Drawing inspiration from the rich culinary traditions of coastal Italy, Barchetta brings a modern twist by incorporating South Florida's vibrant flavors into its menu. The restaurant's design echoes this fusion, showcasing a blend of imported Italian ingredients with local influences captivating the senses from the moment you step inside.
Signature Dishes and Creative Beverages
At the helm of Barchetta's culinary vision is Executive Chef David Caceres, who has curated a menu featuring an array of handmade pastas and premium seafood. The highlights include the Bistecca Fiorentina, a lavish prime T-bone steak ideal for sharing, and the Frutti di Mare, a delectable seafood mix that includes Florida black grouper topped with Kaluga caviar. Not to be missed, the Bucatini Cacio e Pepe offers a unique take on classic handmade pasta infused with the earthy tones of black truffle.
Caceres expresses his passion for food stating, “This is the kind of food I love — great ingredients, bold flavors, and dishes with a lot of character. We've created a menu that celebrates all of those aspects, and I’m incredibly proud of what our team is contributing to the culinary scene in Fort Lauderdale.”
The drink menu is equally inviting, blending traditional Italian aperitivo culture with refreshing South Florida characteristics. Barchetta takes a playful spin on classic cocktails, exemplified by the Pomodoro Negroni, which features tomato-basil-washed gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth. Interestingly, the cocktail menu includes innovative offerings featuring local produce, such as the Day Drift, crafted with Miami-based J.F. Haden's Lychee Liqueur, Prosecco, lemon juice, and St-Germain.
