Celebrating 10 Years of SDGs: Join Us for an Inspiring Event

Celebrating a Decade of SDGs: SDGs+10 Anniversary Event

On September 25, just ten years after the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the United Nations General Assembly, the SDGs Citizens' Network will host a special event at Telling Cafe & Gallery in Aoyama, Tokyo. This commemorative gathering not only celebrates the milestones achieved over the past decade but also fosters dialogue on how we can navigate the next five years together toward a sustainable future.

The SDGs, which stand for Sustainable Development Goals, have gained significant recognition in Japan, prompting increased efforts from businesses, local governments, and civil society. However, as the 2030 deadline approaches, there's a pressing need for cross-sector collaboration to accelerate progress across various fronts. The upcoming event aims to create a platform for new partnerships and exchanges that transcend individual roles.

Event Highlights

1. Significance: On the anniversary of the SDGs' adoption, participants will reflect on progress and engage in networking across sectors such as business, government, civil society, and youth initiatives.
2. Networking Opportunities: The event will facilitate meaningful connections in a relaxed space, serving sustainable food and drinks, allowing attendees to unwind while pursuing collaboration.
3. Exclusive Attendance: With limited seating for just 50 participants, attendees can expect intimate interactions, cultivating close-knit conversations and potential partnerships.

A Message from the SDGs Japan Team

Since our establishment in 2017, we have been dedicated to achieving the SDGs from a civil society perspective, advocating for the principle of leaving no one behind. In 2025, we rally around the mantra "SDGs as hope" and emphasize that without persistent efforts, we cannot achieve peace or the SDGs. We envision the upcoming event as an opportunity for attendees to relax, share a meal, and meet fellow advocates as we brainstorm ways to progress together toward our shared goals over the next five years. Guided by our slogan, "More for the Future of SDGs," we aim to identify collaborative pathways to advance our mission collectively.

Media Coverage Welcome

The event is open to media coverage. We kindly ask interested media representatives to inform us in advance about their organization, the number of attendees, and expected arrival time. We can also provide comments and images as needed.
