Central to the new functionality is the built-in connection that directly links Vectorworks and Trace. Designers can utilize the “Export to Morpholio Trace” command to send selected sheet layers, viewports, or 3D models from Vectorworks into dedicated folders in the cloud, preserving their scale accurately. From Trace, users can access and import these files back into their projects. When ready to incorporate sketches back into their original designs, they simply use the “Import from Morpholio Trace” command, converting their sketches into PDFs, images, or vector data in DXF format for use in Vectorworks. This workflow eliminates the need for manual exchanges, allowing all data to remain synchronized and ensuring a continuous creative flow.

This seamless journey between hand-drawn sketches and BIM supports teams at every project phase. During the initial conceptual design stage, users can rapidly explore multiple ideas and overlays in Trace while ensuring scale and geometry are maintained. As the project progresses, this same workflow proves invaluable for client presentations, markup during reviews, and adjustment sketches that directly interact with Vectorworks models. The result is a more fluid and expressive, efficient process from the initial idea to detailed design and production drawings.
