JTEKT Group's Thermo Systems Set to Showcase Innovations at Thermotec 2026

JTEKT Group's Innovations at Thermotec 2026

JTEKT Corporation, headquartered in Kariya, Aichi Prefecture and led by President Yoshito Kondo, is embracing the future of technological solutions at the upcoming Thermotec 2026 event. Their subsidiary, JTEKT Thermo Systems, based in Tenri, Nara Prefecture and headed by CEO Naoyuki Otomo, will showcase its cutting-edge advancements at this significant gathering scheduled from September 9 to 11, 2026, at Tokyo Big Sight.

The JTEKT Group operates under the mission to connect technology and create smiles for all individuals working towards a sustainable planet. Their vision, articulated as the JTEKT Group 2030 Vision, strives to be a solution provider that shapes the future of mobility society through innovation in manufacturing and production equipment. With a shared corporate value of “Yes for All, by All!”, JTEKT is committed to enhancing existing products like bearings, machine tools, and automotive parts while simultaneously exploring new horizons.

Overview of Their Participation

At Thermotec 2026, JTEKT is set to address critical challenges in heat treatment, including energy conservation, carbon neutrality, digital transformation, and dimensional reduction in products. Attendees can expect presentations on themes such as "Next-Generation Heat Treatment Realized Through Digital Technologies,” “Utilization of CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering),” and “The Digital Transformation of Heat Treatment.” These topics will highlight the latest innovations and solutions aimed at resolving customer issues.

Key Products on Display

JTEKT plans to feature several groundbreaking products that focus on achieving energy efficiency and supporting carbon-neutral initiatives. The following key offerings will be highlighted:

1. Energy Efficient Solutions and Carbon Neutrality
JTEKT introduces items that significantly contribute to CO2 emissions reduction:
- Enhanced insulation methods using proprietary insulation material Moldasarm and porous insulation boards, which can reduce radiated heat loss from furnace shells by up to 55% compared to traditional bricks.
- Improvements in the cooling patterns of quenching oil post-hardening to achieve up to 52% reduction in power consumption for the oil tank.
- Revision of gaseous atmosphere introduction patterns for carburizing treatment, allowing for about 30% reduction in gas consumption.
- Retrofitting services aimed at stopping machinery that is typically in operation during non-use times, incorporating automatic stop features, intermittent operation, and low-speed operation.

2. J-Predis® Predictive Failure Detection System
Utilizing advanced IoT, machine learning, and AI technologies, this system perpetually collects, monitors, and analyzes equipment data to detect early signs of potential failures, preventing issues before they arise. It also leverages gathered data to enhance quality control, facilitate planned maintenance, and streamline operational efficiency, contributing to stable operations and increased productivity for customers.

3. Smart FLEC® Series
This innovative series of carburizing furnaces emphasizes compactness and pitless designs, which effectively reduces heat treatment distortion, relieving concerns in post-processing stages for customers. The series includes the Smart FLEC® G (gas carburizing furnace), Smart FLEC® V (vacuum carburizing furnace), and Smart FLEC® One (ultra-high-speed carburizing and quenching device utilizing induction heating). By optimizing heating chambers and conditions, as well as oil tank/cooling layers, the Smart FLEC® series can achieve a distortion reduction of around 40% to 80% compared to traditional models. Continuous refinement through CAE and experimental validation aims for even greater reductions in distortion.
