Dilmah Receives Double Recognition at SIAL Paris 2026 for Innovative Products and Sustainability

Dilmah Achieves Honor at SIAL Paris 2026

Dilmah Ceylon Tea Company has announced an exciting achievement ahead of the SIAL Paris 2026, which will be held from October 17-21. The company has received a double recognition, with three of its innovative products selected for the SIAL Innovation Paris 2026 selection. Furthermore, Dilmah has been acknowledged as one of only five global finalists in the 'Large Enterprises' category of the SIAL For Change competition, a new initiative aimed at praising sustainability and social responsibility within the agricultural and food industry.

Overview of Recognized Products

The three innovations nominated for the SIAL Innovation Paris 2026 Selection include:

1. Dilmah Sparkling Iced Tea Collection - Consumer Goods Category
2. Elevrie Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Tea Collection - including White, Red, and Rosé variants, also in the Consumer Goods Category
3. Dilmah Windsor Forest Luxury Tea and Herb Collection - Equipment & Technology Category, which features a home-compostable cotton tea bag.

These selections were made by an independent jury comprised of international food industry experts who evaluated the entries based on originality, technical innovation, and sustainability impact. Selected products will be displayed in a dedicated innovation area during the SIAL event.

Vision and Philosophy Behind the Recognition

The recognition from SIAL, which is one of the most prestigious platforms for food and sustainability, reflects a philosophy that Dilmah’s founder established over four decades ago. According to Dilhan C. Fernando, Chairman of Dilmah, true innovation and genuine sustainability serve the same purpose: to protect nature and serve people, rather than just profit from them.

He stated, “Receiving this recognition as one of just five large companies from 226 applicants, along with having three of our products recognized for their innovative capabilities, underscores our commitment to innovation across all sectors of our business.”

Commitment to Social Responsibility

Dilmah's finalist status in the SIAL For Change competition not only showcases their innovative product lineup but also highlights their business model centered on corporate social responsibility. The MJF Charitable Foundation, founded in 2002, and Dilmah Conservation, established in 2007, invest 15% of the company’s pre-tax profits into community welfare and environmental protection initiatives.

During this competition, out of 226 worldwide submissions, only 122 were deemed eligible. This resulted in the selection of merely five large enterprises and fifteen small and medium-sized enterprises as finalists.

Announcement of Winners

The winners for both competitions at SIAL Paris will be revealed during the official award ceremonies scheduled for October 17 and 18, 2026. Dilmah’s commitment to forging a path toward sustainable business practices continues to resonate throughout the global market as they embody the spirit of innovative development in a responsible manner.

Dilmah stands poised to leave its mark at SIAL Paris 2026, not just as a tea producer but as a catalyst for change in the food and beverage sector, reflecting a harmonious balance between business success and environmental stewardship.
