FPIKO and Pariya's Eco Store Collaboration Declaration
FPIKO Co., Ltd., headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo, and Pariya Co., Ltd., located in Hikone, Shiga Prefecture, have announced their partnership to launch the 'Eco Store Collaboration Declaration.' This initiative aims to reduce environmental impact and contribute to the realization of a sustainable circular society.
This collaboration signifies a pivotal step for FPIKO, who has long championed the 'Store-to-Store' horizontal recycling initiative, now starting its implementation at one of Pariya's locations. Together with their customers, they aim to create a more Earth-friendly shopping environment.
About the Initiative
The 'Store-to-Store' model is a recycling system in which food trays and plastic bottles used in supermarkets are collected with the assistance of customers and transformed back into new food trays and transparent containers for reuse in the same stores. This horizontal recycling method significantly contributes to reducing CO2 emissions by continuously circulating resources without changing their application. This vital effort strives to minimize the environmental footprint of the products we utilize.
With the declaration of collaboration, Pariya will transition to more eco-friendly 'Eco Trays' for their meat and fish products. Beginning July 1, 2025, used trays collected at the store will be utilized as resources by FPIKO, marking the start of a new operational phase. Customers are encouraged to participate in the tray collection during their shopping experience, fostering a collective attempt to support sustainable practices.
Numerical Targets for the Initiative
Through this partnership, both companies are committed to contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions. They have established a numerical target to achieve a 15% increase by the end of fiscal year 2026, aiming for a reduction of 3.3 tons compared to the previous year. FPIKO and Pariya aspire to become the Eco Leaders of their region, continuously working together on the proactive use of eco-friendly products, expanding collection quantities, and enhancing environmental awareness initiatives.
Both companies pledge to work diligently alongside the community to realize a sustainable society.
