Experience the Nature POP!® Exhibit at Magnolia Plantation
This summer, Charleston is set to host a captivating exhibition called
Nature POP!®, created by the renowned artist
Sean Kenney. With over
800,000 LEGO® bricks used to craft this showcase, visitors can expect a stunning display of eco-themed art at the historic
Magnolia Plantation & Gardens from
May 23 to August 15, 2025.
Located at
3550 Ashley River Road, Magnolia Plantation is one of the most cherished landmarks in Charleston. This exhibition promises to merge art, nature, and innovation, offering a fresh and exciting experience for guests of all ages.
Nature POP!® will feature
more than 40 monumental sculptures intricately designed to highlight the beauty of the natural world, infused with a playful pop-art aesthetic.
A Breath of Fresh Art
Kenney’s exhibition will include impressive pieces such as vibrant birds caught mid-flight and a majestic fox standing in vivid colors. The display not only demonstrates artistic prowess but also encourages viewers to contemplate the interconnectedness of nature. Much like LEGO® bricks fit together to create various forms, these artworks encourage visitors to reflect on their relationships with the environment, the balance of ecosystems, and the impact of humanity on nature.
In each installation, Kenney combines artistic skill with informative insights. The sculptures will be accompanied by interactive content that offers scientific facts, making the exhibit both fun and educational. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the delicate relationships within ecosystems, emphasizing the bond between species and their habitats.
Words from the Artist
Sean Kenney himself expressed excitement over the exhibition, stating: "Magnolia's beautiful landscapes are the perfect backdrop for my sculptures, which use the bold colors of LEGO® bricks to showcase the amazing world of nature.” He noted that the vibrant hues and engaging designs are meant to present the natural world in a way that is both fun and enlightening for attendees.
