Japan's Cheerleading Representatives Visit Sports Agency Chief after Winning in Florida

Japan's Cheerleading Team Triumphs at ICU Championships

On June 26, 2025, members of Japan's cheerleading team gathered to visit Koji Murofushi, the Chief of the Japan Sports Agency, to report on their remarkable achievements in the ICU (International Cheer Union) World Cheerleading Championships held in Orlando, Florida, from April 23 to April 25.

This year's event was a proud moment for the team, as they sent representatives in all 12 categories and won medals in 10 of them. The meeting with Murofushi was not only a formal report but also an opportunity to celebrate their success and share their experiences.

A Warm Reception

The atmosphere during the meeting was warm and supportive. Murofushi welcomed the team members, acknowledging their hard work and dedication. He emphasized that while medals are significant, the sense of achievement and personal growth that athletes experience through competition is even more important. He shared his admiration for their accomplishments and encouraged the athletes to continue pursuing excellence not just in cheerleading but in their personal lives as well.

"Earning medals is fantastic, but what truly matters is the sense of accomplishment and growth you gain. I believe this experience has not only brought you success in your sport but has also contributed to your development as individuals. I look forward to meeting you all again in the future," Murofushi stated.
