Dahua Technology Unveils Innovative AIoT Solutions at SCEWC 2026
Dahua Technology, a global leader in AIoT solutions centered around video technology, showcased its latest innovations aimed at enhancing urban living during the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) 2026. This esteemed event took place in Barcelona from November 3 to 5, and the theme was "Together for an AI-driven Urban Future." Dahua's offerings focus on making cities safer, more efficient, and environmentally sustainable.
Urban Security Solutions
Dahua's urban security solutions integrate cameras and IoT devices with AI-based analytics systems to identify risks and coordinate emergency responses. One standout application combines intelligent recognition technology with text and image search capabilities, facilitating missing person searches by integrating public alerting systems and safety protocols.
Intelligent Traffic Management
In the realm of intelligent traffic management, Dahua introduced cutting-edge technologies to monitor traffic, optimize traffic light signaling, ensure regulatory compliance, and detect incidents. A notable project in Campeche, Mexico, involved optimizing 34 intersections and implementing seven green wave systems, resulting in 23 enhancements, a 20% increase in traffic volume, and a 15% reduction in wait times.
Smart Mobility Solutions
Dahua's smart mobility solutions aim to enhance public transportation safety and efficiency. They provide vehicle monitoring, security alerts, and integrated information for bus services. Features like driver behavior monitoring, real-time video feeds, GPS tracking, and passenger counting play significant roles in fleet management, safety oversight, and fare verification.
Urban Governance Technologies
Dahua's urban governance technologies leverage AI analytics and multimodal information processing to detect illegal street vending, littering, missing manhole covers, public flooding, obstruction of emergency access routes, and the presence of smoke or fire. Natural language query capabilities and automated alerts assist personnel in identifying incidents and coordinating responses effectively.
Eco-friendly Solutions
Dahua's environmental solutions focus on resource protection and environmental management. Thermal cameras installed at high points offer 360-degree coverage, capable of detecting potential fire outbreaks from distances of up to 10 kilometers. These systems work in conjunction with ground monitoring devices and drones to enhance fire detection and emergency response.
For water resource management, a radar-based device, combined with a PTZ camera, provides real-time monitoring of water levels, issuing alerts when thresholds are exceeded.
Leadership Insights
Beyond product exhibitions, John Li, Global Government Business Unit Director at Dahua Technology, participated in a high-level roundtable titled "AI Agents Acting Systems." Li emphasized how AI integration in cameras and sensors can facilitate proactive urban management, from AI-enhanced searches to autonomous agents capable of identifying urban issues and monitoring their resolutions. He underlined the need for privacy, transparency, and accountability to ensure AI delivers genuine public value.
Max Huang, Global Government Projects Director at Dahua Technology, further elaborated in a presentation titled "Building Resilient, Inclusive, and Sustainable Smart Cities through AIoT." He explained how edge intelligence and high-quality structured data form the foundation for deploying large AI models in real-world smart city environments.
Li concluded by stating, "Ultimately, IoT detection devices are the 'eyes and hands' of AI. The AI of the future will not be limited to processing information in the digital realm; it will penetrate deeper into the physical world, helping us manage cities to be safer, more efficient, and livable."
Looking ahead, Dahua is committed to collaborating with clients and partners to advance smart city solutions and support the ongoing digital transformation of urban environments.
