Dandelion Chocolate Japan, based in Taito, Tokyo, is set to unveil its highly anticipated Summer Collection 2025 starting June 1. This special lineup, available at their cafes, will showcase a series of unique parfaits and drinks, all crafted with single-origin cacao and seasonal fruits, providing a refreshing treat for the hot summer months.

Celebrating Unique Cacao Flavors


Each cafe will strive to highlight the distinct character of cacao beans while harmonizing them with carefully selected seasonal fruits. These parfaits are designed to embody the essence of summer, allowing customers to immerse themselves in the deep, rich world of cacao. Utilizing meticulously chosen ingredients, every element within the parfait, from ice creams and sauces to each topping, is crafted in-house, enhancing the uniqueness of the offerings. Every bite promises a delightful fusion of cacao and fruit, making this collection a must-try.

Introducing the Citrus Chocolate Parfait


At the Factory & Cafe Kuramae, chocolate enthusiasts can enjoy the limited seasonal offering: the “Chocolate Parfait - SEMULIKI FOREST, UGANDA.” This parfait allows patrons to fully appreciate the unique characteristics of Ugandan cacao. Designed for savouring in the cafe, it's also conveniently available for takeout, perfect for enjoying while exploring the charming streets of Kuramae.

Every component of the parfait is homemade, and the chocolate is infused with the essence of Ugandan cacao beans, which reveal nutty aromas and a juicy citrus acidity reminiscent of oranges. To enhance these delightful flavors, three types of citrus (Blood Orange, Mineola Tangelo, and Navel Orange) have been carefully selected, ensuring each ingredient complements the others harmoniously.

This chocolate parfait offers a luxurious experience that harmoniously layers the deep flavors of chocolate with the refreshing notes of citrus, perfect for early summer indulgence.

Layered to Perfection


To create a light yet satisfying treat for the hot season, the parfait features a thoughtfully constructed layering of flavors that shift from top to bottom:

1. Top Layer: The parfait begins with a syrup-soaked, dehydrated orange chip made from Mineola Tangelo, exhibiting a harmony of sweetness and slight bitterness akin to candied orange. Its delightful appearance adds a playful touch to the parfait.

2. Main Layer: The rich milk ice cream incorporates Ugandan cacao nibs for a sophisticated flavor profile, reminiscent of rum. Accompanying this is a dense, moist chocolate brownie that enhances the rich cacao experience. Following these layers, an H₂O CHOCOLATE® ganache is topped with chocolate crumbles, introducing crunchy textures while accentuating the nutty aroma of the cacao.

3. Citrus Zing and Gentle Finish: A refreshing Blood Orange jelly ties the entire parfait together with its zesty acidity, followed by a delightful orange compote that has been simmered with organic brown sugar, lending a natural sweetness. Each layer has been crafted with care to maintain balance and enhance flavors.

4. Final Touch: Topped off with a panna cotta infused with cacao husk, offering a subtle coconut aroma, this concludes the parfait indulgently, balancing richness with a gentle finish.

Chef Maki Takahashi from Factory & Cafe Kuramae shared her insights on this parfait: “In crafting this treat, I focused on accentuating the nutty profile and juicy acidity of Ugandan cacao. The elegant shift in flavors from top to bottom is designed for a refreshing summer experience, while still allowing for the warm embrace of cacao to linger on the palate. I hope everyone enjoys this parfait, an ideal treat for early summer.”

Returning this year, from June 16, is the Chocolate Parfait - ZORZAL COMUNITARIO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. This parfait captures the essence of single-origin chocolate, featuring a blend of rich chocolate ice cream, cacao pulp sorbet, and various chocolate-infused textures to create a delightful tasting experience.

Seasonal Drink: Apricot Chocolate


To refresh the summer vibes, Dandelion Chocolate is also rolling out a cold drink: Apricot Chocolate, available from June 2 at Factory & Cafe Kuramae and June 1 at Shop & Cafe Ise. This concoction combines the rich depth of chocolate with the sweet and tart flavors of apricot, perfect for quenching thirst during the hot days ahead.
